The Varia Slim system, which will be discussed in this review, is the most affordable and high-quality option for a remote drive, which is successfully used by consumers both abroad and in the Russian Federation.

Varia Slim is an automatic chain drive that is used to open and close plastic windows. It can be used in top-hung windows with external opening, as well as in bottom-hung windows with internal or external opening. Among other things, the Varia Slim chain drive can be installed on hatches and roof windows. Remote opening of windows using the mechanism in question is highly effective when used in ventilation and ventilation systems, which allows the user to save time and effort. The process of opening and closing a plastic window is carried out using a double-row steel chain, which is located in the chain drive housing. Additional adjustment of downforce using third-party mechanisms is not required.

For ease of installation of the Varia Slim automatic chain drive, the manufacturer has provided an initial chain output of 1 centimeter. This means that installing the drive will not require preliminary connection to the electrical network, and the window will remain in the closed position after installing the automatic drive. There is no fastening screw connection between the support bracket and the Varia Slim drive, which means that the drive will rotate behind the window sash even if the windows are of low height.

Let's talk about specific chain drive options. In the case of Varia Slim Base, we are talking about an automatic system that is installed on the transom sash in the amount of 1 piece. The transom width cannot be more than 1200 millimeters, and the minimum sash height for installing the Varia Slim Base system is 400 millimeters. It is possible to select the chain travel adjustment. If the height of the window sash exceeds 400 millimeters, then the travel adjustment will be 240 millimeters. For sashes from 550 millimeters and more, adjustment at 360 millimeters is allowed. In the first option, the time for complete output of the circuit is 18 seconds, and in the second - 27 seconds. The drive can be used in an operating temperature range from −5 to +65 degrees Celsius.

As we have already said, Varia Slim Base is installed in one copy, which allows you to effectively control window sashes up to 1200 millimeters. Theoretically, it is possible to supply two Varia Slim Base automatic chain drives, but in this case the operation of the drives will not be synchronized, which will lead to problems with opening and closing. Therefore, if the sash width is more than 1200 millimeters, it is recommended to install the Varia Slim Syncro automatic chain drive. The set of this system includes two electric drives, synchronized with each other at the hardware level. Working in coordinated synchronization, they will provide smooth double force, allowing you to effectively operate heavy leaves without interruption in movement.

The Varia Slim Syncro drive has a built-in protection system. If one drive suddenly stops, the other will also instantly stop moving, which guarantees the safety and integrity of the plastic window. Unlike most similar systems, the Varia Slim Syncro automated electric drive does not require connecting an external synchronization unit, having all the necessary hardware on board. The technical characteristics of the synchronized drive are similar to the Varia Slim Base version in terms of operating temperatures, protection index, type of chain stop when closing, etc. However, there are differences. The synchronizing mechanism slightly reduces the speed of the chain, as a result of which the time for the chain to fully reach 400 millimeters increases to 48 seconds.
