[ads1] Owners of apartments that have a balcony or loggia can be considered lucky: they have additional space that can be landscaped and used at their own discretion.
Many people use the balcony to store unclaimed items, but it can be turned into a full-fledged room or a beautifully furnished corner, ideal for relaxation.
Open balconies are an excellent platform for decoration, giving the opportunity to bring a lot of design ideas to life. Well, glazed balcony spaces are even more comfortable than open ones.
In this article, we have collected interesting ideas for arranging closed and open balconies and the interior design of beautiful balconies with photo illustrations that clearly demonstrate how to make a balcony beautiful and comfortable and what one or another design option looks like.
Master class on interior painting: Wall painting on the loggia
In this master class we will consider the topic of visual expansion of space.
I want to show the process of painting the loggia wall. The main task of this work was the need to visually expand the space, to create the illusion of a transition from the room to the seashore (I’ll make a reservation right away, with minimal elaboration of the details of the painting). Author: Natalya Bagdanova, Tomsk
Having carefully examined the wall, I discovered small cracks on the surface of the finishing layer, so I decided to further strengthen the surface by treating it with deep-penetrating impregnation, and then primed the surface with acrylic primer.
Then I start drawing the water, highlighting the pier area.
The surface of the water is not one color, it plays with all colors and glares, based on this I lay out several color tones and begin to draw shadows.
I cover the surface of the pier with color, matching the main color as accurately as possible to the color of the floor on the loggia.
I draw highlights on the water.
With a pencil I outline the contours of the palm branches and apply the main color. I use flute core brushes as a tool; in the process of working, the brush wears down to the base, but it is such a pleasure to work with it!
I paint the light areas.
I repeat the same operations when writing the second branch.
I paint highlights in the lightest areas and the result is palm leaves like these.
At the next stage, I draw shadows on the surface of the pier and highlight the lightest areas.
I draw the texture of the wood, imitating the surface of the floor on the loggia.
After I removed the paper tape, I discovered that the border stood out sharply in color.
The result is this image on the wall of the loggia.

Yes, it looks absolutely amazing. It's a pity that I don't know how to draw and I'm simply not capable of something like that. I can say that such a drawing will simply warm your soul in the winter season. But in the summer, it is always hot in the loggia, so you will get the feeling that you are not in your apartment, but somewhere on the seashore. I envy the owners of this apartment with white envy.
It seems like you look at the pictures and there is nothing complicated. But in fact, without experience, you won’t be able to paint a wall like this on your own. Although you know some artists, you can ask them to work for a cake)))) It turned out beautifully!

Drawing of a house with an attic
How to draw a house with an attic? After the facade of the house is drawn, you can begin to depict the roof. A classic gable roof is an ideal option for your drawing, it is easy to draw, and besides, such a design assumes the presence of an attic in the attic, which means that the structure will become more stylish. The attic facade can be located above the front door or above the central window. The attic roof, as a rule, is at the same level with the ridge of the main roof, sometimes lower. If in your drawing the ridge of the attic roof is higher than the level of the main roof, then it will no longer be an attic, but a mezzanine.
The roof of the house in your drawing can be depicted in two versions: simple, without frills, or elegant and beautiful. In the second case, it is necessary to paint it an exclusive coating. For small one-story mansions, scaly ceramic tiles are ideal. This coating gives the roof some fabulousness, and the whole house becomes elegant and festive.
painting
Traditional monumental painting is considered one of the fashionable trends in decor. Over the past five years, this option for decorating the walls of the balcony area has been experiencing a real boom. Decorating a balcony and loggia with elegant wall paintings is a sign of the worthy taste of the owners.
One of the most popular and universal genres in wall painting is landscape. Often, landscape paintings demonstrating spatial perspective are placed on the walls of the balcony in order to visually “move away” or completely “dissolve” them, thereby creating a spectacular illusion of a voluminous room.
An unusual frame can be painted on a free wall - then it will look like an original “trick” for the eye. For monumental painting of balcony walls, you will need painting materials that are resistant to temperature changes, moisture and ultraviolet radiation. The listed requirements are best met by tempera paints, followed by ordinary interior and exterior painting materials, as well as tinted pastes.
Tip: It is best to paint the walls of a balcony using tempera paints: they are resistant to all the above requirements, fit perfectly on any base and look impressive, not inferior in decoration to a classic fresco.
Lighting
With some experience working with electricity, it is quite possible to install lighting on the balcony with your own hands. To lay electrical wiring, it is quite possible to use the free internal space that remains between the finishing cladding and the insulation. It is advisable to lay the wires yourself in a special casing to prevent them from catching fire. In this case, the location must be chosen so that the lining can be quickly removed in the event of any malfunction.
The cladding is most often made of plywood or plasterboard. They need to be marked in advance and cut out holes for switches and sockets. When insulating the loggia, the ceiling is also insulated. Therefore, it is quite convenient to install built-in lamps in it. It is worth considering unobtrusive and soft lighting. Here you can show your imagination. For example, if the room is large enough, then you can make a separate light area next to the sofa or armchair. This way you can create two-level lighting.
Lamps can be with conventional incandescent lamps, as well as LED. They can be installed in the ceiling, on the walls and even on the floor. If you have a small winter garden, you can even effectively highlight plants or other interior elements. Around the table you can also think about sconces on the wall.

Flocking
Flocks, or otherwise “chips,” are a colorful bulk mixture that consists of different-sized particles, different in shape and color. This type of decor has appeared recently, but in terms of popularity flocking is not inferior to wall painting today.
Advantages of flocks:
The flocking technique involves applying a special adhesive mixture to the surface of the walls: immediately after laying the glue, you need to throw flocks onto the sticky wall. The chaotic adhesion of “chips” to the base creates unpredictable and unique effects. In a large room, it is best to use a spray gun. After gluing the “chips” is completed, it is recommended to cover the wall with a specific protective compound.
Plaster
The modern market offers an excellent variety of this material. Plastered walls look dignified and original. Choose the appropriate type of plaster based on your personal needs and overall design. We list the popular plaster models:
- Venetian is the most expensive and difficult to work with. Material composition: transparent wax, marble flour and gypsum. The difficulty in the installation process lies in the technique of multi-layer application of the mixture to the wall surface: on average about 6 layers to obtain a deep and textured pattern. The drawing always turns out to be unique, since it is virtually impossible to replicate its texture.
- Microcement is cheaper than the previous material, but no less interesting. The plaster contains a binder cement base with the addition of polymers. To obtain the expected result, you need to know the technique of applying multi-layer decorative finishes. Finally, the plaster is coated with wax or varnish.
- Soft decorative or liquid wallpaper - attractive and elastic silk structure. An aesthetic and at the same time budget finishing option: covering walls with liquid wallpaper does not require the purchase of expensive tools. Soft plaster is applied in the same way as traditional plaster - in a blanket manner, each layer is leveled with a trowel.
Application
A stylish and dignified way to decorate a balcony and loggia is to use colorful appliqués in the design. You can evaluate the rich assortment offered by design studios and try to make one of your favorite “crafts” with your own hands. You can use any material: knitted items, paper stickers, fabric patterns, and so on.
If you want, create an original stencil from wallpaper for later stickers. First, decide on a design, then develop an idea for the decoration on the computer and output it through the printer. Place the stencil on strips of leftover wallpaper that contrast in color with those pasted on the wall, outline the design and cut it out.
Tip: You can also use ready-made vinyl stickers for decoration: they are easy to glue and have an original shape.
How to draw a house using pencils, rulers and watercolors
“How to draw a house?” - the question is not difficult; even a child who has already learned to hold a pencil and brushes can cope with this task. For adults, drawing a house with your own hands is a fun creative activity involving simple arithmetic calculations. How to draw a house, step by step, you will learn from this article. The drawing is proposed to be simple, but it includes all the advantages of a real house located on a separate plot of land.
And as we see, in the picture, in addition to the house, there are trees, grass on which children and dogs frolic. This is a landscape environment that no residential building can do without. Nature, landscapes, orchards, ponds and fields are integral parts of any building. Therefore, the drawing should include the landscape adjacent to the house. An exception is made only for schematic and drawing drawings.
Textile
For decorating walls, covering with fabric is an optimal and unusual solution: this decor looks very stylish and unique. But the main thing is: covering the walls with fabric yourself is not so difficult. Your main task is to choose the right material that has the necessary strength and does not fade in the sun.
Before decorating the walls of a balcony or loggia with fabric, it is necessary to treat the material with a hydrophobic solution that prevents moisture and dust from penetrating the texture of the fabric. Fastening the canvases to the surface can be done using nails or screws using decorative heads. The seams can be finished with braid and decorative strips, friezes and ceiling plinths.
Arrangement of a closed balcony
This type of balcony is optimal for warm weather. It amazingly combines the ease of design and maximum freedom.
How to design balcony windows of a combined cold type? A popular option is stained glass. In addition, you can install a panoramic window.
Insulation work will make the use of such a balcony space comfortable even in the cold season.
You can decorate the exit to the balcony with an arch made of moldings. It will connect it with the room as organically as possible.
Drapery
The walls of the balcony, evenly upholstered with fabric, look luxurious, while the atmosphere in the room itself becomes warmer and more comfortable. Draping balcony walls with fabric has the following advantages:
Keep in mind that not just any material is suitable for covering a balcony wall with fabric: high-quality fabrics for drapery should be “breathable” and durable, not subject to fading. After covering, the material must be impregnated with a water-repellent layer. Choose drapery fabric with an attractive and unique pattern.
Lighting for decoration
You can use a garland as a decoration by hanging it on the loggia. It will look beautiful on walls, windows, or just hanging from the ceiling.
A variety of lamps will help to wonderfully decorate the balcony space. For example, you can place several identical lamps around the entire perimeter of this room. They are mounted on the ceiling or walls. Small shelves are made especially for them.
Garden lamps look beautiful. They create warm lighting, and they are installed even on unglazed balconies, because such lamps are intended for the street.
If it is not possible to install electrical wiring to the loggia, you can purchase solar-powered lamps for lighting. Thanks to the sun, they will be charged all day, giving you the pleasure of pleasant lighting in the evening.
Stencils
These elements are actively used in decorating walls with different types of finishes: they are used in flocking, in the process of applying textured plaster, during painting, in creating appliqué. For example, in the procedure of textured finishing - sgraffito - a cardboard stencil impregnated with drying oil is often used.
The type of finish affects which specific type of stencil will be used. For example, in monumental painting several categories of stencils made from different materials can be used:
Tip: To create an unusual and complex relief pattern, it is rational to use hard plastic stencils and soft vinyl templates.
Trim for decoration
You can cover the walls of your balcony with your own hands with paint or plaster, line it with clapboards, plastic panels, or lay out mosaics. Some paint real pictures on the walls using acrylic paints. You can hang a panel of artificial flowers.
Using modern materials, you can cover the balcony floor with “parquet”, “marble”, “green grass” or “natural stone”. Linoleum, tiles or parquet are also used as coverings. You can use beautiful carpet runners.
A great idea is to decorate your balcony with curtains. With their help, an atmosphere of comfort is created. You can use classic curtains, or roller blinds. The color of the curtains plays an important role in the interior of the balcony. They should match the curtain, just be a little lighter.
Other types of decor
Of course, you can use more conventional wall finishing techniques. Let's consider popular decorating methods that have already become traditional for most Russian families:
1. Roll coverings : relief wallpaper with large ornaments, geometric patterns, fabric and veneer coverings, convex images and modern 3D patterns. This material creates an interesting textured surface.
2. Natural and artificial stones : look great on the balcony wall and combine well with wooden interior items. As a rule, they decorate only one wall, creating an exclusive designer panel, or skillfully frame door and window openings with stone.
3. Natural wood : this is a classic finishing option. Fans of eco-style often completely cover the balcony part with clapboards. This balcony decor looks simple but stylish.
If your choice is on this option, then we recommend that you read our article about the technology of covering balconies and loggias with clapboards yourself. In it you will find a lot of useful information on working with this material.
Cork panels for walls are another interesting and original material for finishing balconies, loggias, and other premises. Read more about cork covering and how to glue it on our website.
4. Fiberboard/chipboard : comfortable and warm coatings, characterized by reliable impact-resistant characteristics. Pairs perfectly with wicker furniture and bamboo motifs.
5. Vinyl siding : an excellent decorative material, easy to install and use. You can use wood and decorative stone siding.
Repair work on the balcony
In order for the results of the work on decorating the balcony to be successful, you need to start with repairs. After choosing the functional focus, the necessary work is determined. In any case, the balcony should be insulated. This reduces heat loss from the adjacent room.

Floor insulation
Repair work should begin from the floors. When buying cement, you need to take into account the curvature of the floor; usually balconies are made with a slope. Before pouring, formwork is done on the outside so that the mixture does not leak out. To hide the unflattering appearance, you can attach a corrugated sheet to the outside.
Polystyrene or expanded clay is used to insulate the floor
Important! For a balcony without heating, you need to take frost-resistant cement so that the floor does not crack from winter frosts.
The flooring can be laid after the cement screed has completely dried
After pouring cement, you need to decide on the floor covering:
Balcony view | Material | Advantages | Flaws |
Open | Ceramic tile | easy to clean from dirt; resistant to frost and direct sun. | appearance; complexity of installation; cold, slippery surface. |
Porcelain tiles | high wear resistance; looks better than tiles; not afraid of moisture, frost. | installation difficulties; cold floor; high price.
Decking | suitable for open and glazed balconies; holds heat well; Easy to change color with varnish. | high price; Need a specialist for installation.
Glazed | Linoleum | low price; simple installation; easy to care for; resistance to temperature changes. | if damaged it is difficult to restore; low-quality material easily deteriorates from moisture. |
Laminate | looks good, imitating wood; easy, quick installation; good sound insulation; keeps warm. | deteriorates from moisture and temperature changes; requires a flat surface; difficult to change individual parts.
PVC tiles | ease of installation; can be placed on uneven floors; resistant to moisture. | price is above average; service life up to 10 years.
Carpet | inexpensive; warm and comfortable; easy to install and replace. | requires regular cleaning.
Artificial grass | unique design; easy to install; high wear resistance. | high price. |
Ideally, you need a heated floor on your balcony if you want to use it comfortably all year round.

Wall and ceiling finishing
The principles of finishing for a balcony differ from other rooms. When choosing materials, you need to take into account the lack of heating. Well suited for finishing PVC panels. If funds allow, you can replace them with wood. The walls can also be decorated with decorative plaster or stone masonry. For well-insulated balconies, you can use wallpaper.
Wooden cladding is equally suitable for both warm and cold balconies
PVC panels look decent, but are afraid of frost
Before finishing the ceiling on the balcony, it is better to pre-insulate it. For insulation, foam plastic, foil-coated insulation, penoplex, or mineral wool are suitable. The insulated ceiling can be finished with the same material as the walls.

Painting balconies and loggias in St. Petersburg

Drawing options
Most often, a relaxation area is made from a balcony or loggia, and since most often this is a small space, occupying literally 2-5 square meters, you want to visually expand its horizons. For this purpose, deceptions are used. In the example below, a corner is used as a continuation of the room overlooking the sea. The line of the window sill is taken as a basis.
It is imperative to play with the white frames of double-glazed windows in the form of parts of arches and the lower parts of the wall to blur the boundaries with this approach.
Another option for deception is an imitation of a certain arch made of stone with a receding horizon. In the arch you can depict both a view of the city and a landscape of plant origin, mountains, sunset, sea.
Another technique for creating the illusion of extending space is to imitate a broken part of the wall. The artist carefully draws broken and fallen edges and exposes the thickness of the layer.
The openwork lattice in the foreground gives additional depth to the picture.
The most popular are urban decoys. The option below shows a rhythmic composition of a row of tables on a street in a cafe. The painting is pre-selected to match the wrought iron furniture chosen by the customer. The effect of complete presence is guaranteed.
When covering a loggia with wood, the combination of its warm color with the texture of the pattern occurs by drawing the same tones, which looks very harmonious.
And for lovers of vegetation and indoor plants, clusters of hanging branches of ripe grapes and compositions in the form of an open window without drawing a frame with perspective are suitable.
Prices for painting balconies and loggias in St. Petersburg:
Price in rubles per m2 or item.

Materials
For such images, special water-based exterior, interior and artistic paints are used. Application is done primarily with brushes of various sizes manually.
Dyes and pigments are harmless to health, non-flammable, we have all the letters of refusal and certificates of fire safety and environmental friendliness from the manufacturers.
In some cases, to make the task easier, an airbrush and spray gun are used to apply soft background tones. The paints are harmless and odorless, so you can safely stay at home while painting.
Production stages and timing
The timing depends on the complexity and size of the work. As a rule, our artists work a full working day for 6-8 hours on weekdays with a break on weekends. In some cases, overtime work in the evening/night is possible (most often for the decoration of commercial premises, restaurants, offices, cafes, hospitals and hospitals, so as not to interfere with the functioning of the premises).
On weekends it is also possible by agreement. The terms are agreed upon before the start of work and are not subject to violation on our part except in cases of force majeure.
Rules of care
After drying, you should wait about 7-14 days before you go to wash the wall with a soapy solution with rags if it gets dirty.
You can wipe the drawing with a damp cloth a day after the end of the event.
The paint is hypoallergenic. It has a very slight odor, like all water-based paints. After completing the work, it is enough to check the loggia for half an hour.

Drawing of a two-story house
How to draw a house with two floors? This is not difficult if you have the outlines of the first floor ready, but there is no roof yet. The second floor is subject to its own architectural laws and, in order to comply with them, it is necessary to take the parameters of the first floor as a basis. The upper windows cannot be wider than the lower ones, but they can be depicted as shorter in the vertical plan. The second floor is subject to the strict laws of architectural symmetry, which means that the top three windows should be drawn at equal distances from each other, with the middle one being exactly in the middle. If you decide to draw a balcony, then it must also be placed strictly in the center.
How to decorate a balcony? 65 photos of interiors for inspiration
Balcony design plays an important role in modern renovations. There are many finishing options to make the interior in this area an extension of the apartment. In this article we will show ideas and examples of completed projects that will allow you to create a stylish and cozy space in your home.
To finish the floor in an uninsulated and unglazed space, it is better to choose porcelain tiles. This material is resistant to precipitation; the surface of the tile must be rough so as not to slip after rain. When choosing this material, you need to take into account the maximum load on the slab so that the weight of the tiles and concrete screed does not lead to the collapse of the structure.

A selection of design ideas
An open or glazed loggia is constantly used in the apartment. Therefore, when creating the interior of this part of the house, you need to pay special attention. You should understand the main function of the room, decide on the color scheme and style.
Often a compact place for relaxation is installed here - a table with chairs or a small armchair, complementing the space with greenery. This solution looks great in country style, Provence or in combination with eco-style. It is also worth considering the option of a Scandinavian or oriental style.
The main purpose of the territory is a summer garden, so it is better to leave it without glazing and insulation. Look for furniture that is resistant to rain or purchase a special cover for rainy weather.
For such a loggia, it is permissible to use linoleum as a floor covering. Due to double glazing and reliable insulation of the room, the material will not be subject to sudden temperature changes. Also suitable for finishing are lining or laminate.
A coffee table and bar stools occupy part of the space, the walls of which are lined with wood. This balcony design is appropriate if the area is adjacent to the kitchen. The main room frees up useful space, and you will be pleased to drink a cup of coffee and admire the view from the window. Folding chairs can be removed to free up space.
A place to read books. Natural wood and tiles with pebbles were used for decoration. The shades in the room are neutral and conducive to relaxation; blinds protect from the sun's rays - it will be comfortable here in any weather.
In the corner part there is a cabinet made of clapboard, varnished on top. Thus, the material is additionally protected from external influences, increasing its service life.
Painted lining in a bright interior. They mainly choose furniture made of metal, plastic or wood; wicker designs are also used.
Imitation of brickwork in a combined room.
The base of the walls is covered with plaster, the top layer of finishing is made of artificial stone. Forged compact furniture and a street lamp create a French style on the loggia.
Schoolchildren's corner for doing homework. Blue walls go well with decorative white brick. This option will allow you to organize a workplace in a small apartment. For decoration, it is better to choose one tone in the decoration, so that a small room helps you concentrate on completing tasks.
Plaster in the interior of the room, wrought iron furniture and a parapet create the atmosphere of a gazebo in the summer garden. Such material must be treated with a special impregnation that protects the metal from corrosion.
Pastel colors of plaster in the recreation area.
Indian motifs in decoration - light walls, wicker furniture, contrasting textiles and ceramic elephants.
The interior of the mini-office is made in warm colors. Such shades promote productive work and promote psychological comfort even in cloudy weather. At the base there are sheets of plasterboard, on top there is wallpaper for painting. One of the main conditions when arranging a workplace is proper lighting. Natural lighting must be supplemented with artificial sources. You can regulate the sun's rays using blinds or roller blinds made of thick textiles, the color of which is selected in accordance with the finishing palette.
The leveling layer is made of gypsum plasterboard, the top layer is wallpaper painted blue.
Tile with Metlakh pattern on the floor of the open balcony.
Tiles and mosaics with oriental patterns.
Cladding with PVC panels.
Gym in the loggia space. PVC panels were chosen for the renovation. You can put several exercise machines here, but you definitely need to leave room for a mat to do a warm-up, exercise your abs, etc.
Dry reed in balcony design. An environmentally friendly approach is appropriate not only in a country house, inside an apartment, but also on a loggia. By choosing inexpensive natural finishes, you save your family budget and create a stylish space.
Finishing, decor and selection of furniture
To improve a glazed room, you can use a wider variety of decorative and finishing materials. Ceramic floor tiles are easier to maintain, but wood floors are warmer. Laminate flooring will give the room an elegant and stylish look. The walls are decorated with clapboard, wallpaper, and plastic panels. What to give preference is a matter of taste of the owners.
Balcony lighting with a wall lamp
Residents decide for themselves how to equip their balcony. The most common options are the construction of cabinets and the installation of dryers. If the area allows, then it is advisable to create an original recreation area:
- Those who like to read or take a nap set up beds;
- in an original chair suspended on a chain, you can leisurely observe the life of the city;
- It’s interesting to relax on a low podium with friends.
Stylish lounge area on the podium
A fashionable option is to decorate the inside of the balcony with flowers. Thanks to a small greenhouse, it is easier to escape from the drabness of everyday life. All kinds of plants are placed on special stepped stands. If there is little space left for a sofa, then a reliable low cabinet and a couple of flat pillows will create a comfortable place to relax.
Laconic furniture for a small balcony
An original design idea is a wide window sill, which is used as a bar counter. Folding chairs can be conveniently stored in a closet located at the end of the room.
Great coffee area with panoramic views
Small balconies (2-4 sq. m)
A piece of greenery on a 3 square meter balcony. m.
Mini hookah bar on the loggia in Khrushchev.
Sunny lawn with carpeted lawn.
A place for children to study and a storage area of 4 sq. m. m. The furniture was made to order according to individual sizes.
In the children's room it is necessary to place a table for drawing or doing homework, as well as open and closed shelves for storing toys and books.
Instead of a nursery with a desk, some make a playroom or install a sports complex (wall bars, horizontal bar with rings). In summer you can place an inflatable pool here.
Finishing, decor ideas and furniture selection
In order for the balcony to maintain a well-groomed appearance for a long time, it is important to choose the right finishing materials. They must be resistant to temperature changes and high humidity. Ceramic tiles are laid on the floor, and the panel walls are covered with facade plaster. Applying multi-colored compositions is an excellent decorative option.
Budget finishing of the site
In the warm season, fresh flowers hung in flowerpots will turn the loggia into a wonderful oasis. Furniture is selected that is moisture resistant (forged, plastic). Several soft pillows and wicker mats will provide comfort. To create a romantic atmosphere in the evenings, just light a few candles or attach lighting (LED strip) to the walls.
In summer, guests can be invited to tea on the balcony
Large area (5 sq. m or more)
Fireplace area 8 sq. m.
The hookah room combines European and Oriental styles. The room was filled with artificial rattan furniture, organza curtains and textile pillows.
Behind the textile curtain in the hookah room there is a spacious closet for storage.
The owner's territory is on a spacious area.
Workshop of the head of the family. Shelving and a storage system will allow you to place the necessary items and prevent clutter in the room. Each thing has its own place and is easy to find if necessary.
Even in a small area you can create a secluded corner where you can comfortably read a book and relax. Install a comfortable chair with a blanket, add soft pillows, and the room will become a place of privacy.
Idea 3. “Upholstered” furniture
It is not necessary to furnish the balcony with new furniture. Textiles can solve this problem. Instead of new floors, throw in a few blankets or a carpet; instead of chairs, quilted pillows, poufs, a frameless chair; instead of a coffee table, throw in an old box covered with a linen piece of fabric (note, not even necessarily a tablecloth). Add a couple of candles, a knitted basket and the balcony interior is ready.

Textile decoration
Here textiles do not fill the window opening completely, but only a part. This way you are hidden from prying eyes, and a lot of light enters the room. Pink curtains mask the contents of the open shelves.
Curtains are a color accent in the design of a room.
If the windows face north, light tulle on the windows will be enough.
Roman blinds made of cotton.
Wooden blinds in a room that combines a relaxation area and a workplace. Interior decor, textiles, spectacular figurines and paintings - these items will complete the renovation and add an interesting touch.
Blinds in the kitchen dining room combined with a loggia.
Curtains with floral patterns.
If flowers complement the interior, place the plant pots after filling the space with other items. The finished composition will help you choose plants better.
Design of a balcony combined with a room
Naturally, each loggia borders a specific room, this affects its use and decoration.
Balcony and apartment in Scandinavian style
From the living room
The room for relaxation and reception of guests is always decorated in a bright and original way. A mesmerizing panoramic view will be provided by double-glazed fencing. This is especially true for apartments located on upper floors. Elements that combine the space of the living room and balcony can be chandeliers and sconces, wall decor, and floor carpets. Neat armchairs and a coffee table will create a relaxation area.
Balconies with panoramic views
In small-sized apartments, space should be used rationally, so comfortable offices are often set up on the loggia, consisting of a small table, a couple of hanging shelves and a swivel chair.
Comfortable seating area on the balcony
From the nursery
The room adjacent to the child’s room is most often equipped as a play area. Of course, safety should come first (special locks are installed on windows). To make it comfortable for children to play at any time of the year, the floors are made warm and covered with colored carpet or covered with fluffy rugs.
How to create a bright nursery on the balcony
Small wooden cabinets on the sides of the loggia will help maintain order. For older children, you can arrange places for creative activities. It is better to choose plastic furniture, since it is easier for the child to rearrange it (and caring for the items will not be difficult).
Decorating a balcony with plants
With kitchen
A good solution is to create a dining area from a soft sofa, a table and 2-3 chairs. When arranging a loggia of modest size, transformable furniture is used (folding tables, benches and drawers).
Traditional kitchen design with balcony
A major renovation is the addition of a balcony to the kitchen. If the wall is load-bearing, then you can only remove the balcony door and window. An original design solution is to turn the base of the kitchen wall into a bar counter.
Work area on a small balcony
If the partition is not load-bearing, then the balcony and kitchen become a single space. There are many more options for creating the interior of a combined room.
Balcony as a dining area
With bedroom
A fashionable way is to design a balcony in the form of a sports ground. It will not be possible to install a full-fledged sports complex in Khrushchev-era buildings. But a treadmill or exercise bike are suitable options for exercise. Moreover, in the summer you can open the windows wide.
Rational use of the balcony near the bedroom
A soft deep chair or a small ottoman will create a cozy relaxation area where you can easily retire, dream and unwind. A small sconce and a small fur rug will help recreate an atmosphere of comfort. Very often a loggia is turned into a miniature office.
A common option for arranging an office on a loggia
Loggia garden
Landscaping not only visually decorates the loggia, but also promotes emotional balance, relieves stress and fatigue after a working day.
When choosing plants, you need to take into account the dimensions of the room, the orientation of the cardinal directions and the level of illumination, and also trust your taste.
Avoid crowded arrangements. Plants should not interfere with each other, blocking sunlight. The ideal option is to place flowers at different height levels. To do this, use special stands or hanging flowerpots that can be mounted on a railing or wall, trellises for loaches, etc.
Do not use massive tubs and boxes to decorate your mini-garden; it is better to choose plants with a compact root system.
On a closed loggia you can grow violets, pelargonium, cyclamen and begonia.
Some plants cannot grow well on an open balcony - they are susceptible to temperature changes, exposure to sun and wind. For whimsical flowers, small greenhouses are specially built and a special microclimate is created in them. The mini-greenhouse is equipped with lighting and heating, and certain varieties are planted that produce crops all year round.

Use folding furniture and modernize the space as desired. After gatherings of a large group, you can remove unnecessary items by hanging them directly on the wall. The selection of modern patio furniture offers many options that vary in design and price.
During winter, folding chairs can be stored in the house without taking up much space.
Experiment with furniture color.
Find interesting solutions for standard things. For example, in vertical flowerpots you can grow edible plants - dill, parsley, lettuce, etc.
Special pots made in the form of overlays for railings. You can also save space by using hanging shelves.
A small stand table will allow you to functionally equip even a miniature French balcony.
Bright textiles can bring a new mood to a familiar interior. To do this, you don’t need to start renovations and spend a lot of money – just a few touches are enough to update the design of the room.
Half the table takes up minimal space. The color accent in the interior is green armchairs. Contrasted with neutral finishes, they create a summer mood at any time of the year.

Small details of the drawing
Here is a frieze with brackets, and on top there is a carved cornice.

Quite clever. To depict this, you just need to carefully look at how it all works. I sketch several details from the cornice separately and see how they are arranged in simple, general shapes, I draw a sketch. I look at how the lighting is positioned on these parts.
That is, I draw with hints, generalizing patterns, without drawing in detail. I see that somewhere the carved decor is missing. I also keep track of where the darkest shadows are and where the most illuminated areas are. Also, I don’t count the boards in the facade cladding - they just exist, I just draw them in stripes.
With platbands it’s really not that simple. To accurately depict them, you need to understand how they work. Again I sketch separately the shape of one platband.
Although there are many small details in it, I draw them conditionally, highlighting only what catches the eye most. In a similar way, I draw all the elements of the platband already on the final drawing, using a white pencil I slightly indicate the light, and I make the balusters on the sides completely washed out, with a hint. The window reflects the sky and tree. Very strongly emphasizing the effect of glass. You definitely need to depict this. Notice how I draw the tree - I just scribble the masses of leaves in the direction of the branches.
And I finish drawing the bottom of the building. At the bottom, the boards already go in a horizontal direction.
I paint the whole house in a similar way. I pay close attention to the details. That is, the point is to look carefully, peer into the form and structure and try to convey it in a generalized way, but with characteristic features.
To make the mezzanine go higher and move away a little from us, I lighten it a little with a white pencil, generalize it, wash out the details.
