Brown plastic windows. Interior use options

For all their versatility and good compatibility with various design elements, white plastic windows do not always suit the interior interiors or the external style of the original buildings.

The spread of specific designs has led to an increase in the popularity of window designs of other colors, and brown, as expected, has become one of the most popular shades - it closely resembles the natural color of wood and harmonizes well with different materials. The brown palette is quite diverse and allows you to choose suitable tones both for wooden country cottages and city buildings, and for decorating balconies, shopping pavilions or country terraces.

Possibilities of brown PVC windows

Brown window elements:

Laminated window profiles can be brown on the inside and white on the outside

White profile - standard, intended for outdoor use

Window sills, as a rule, are matched to the tone of the internal profile

According to their characteristics, brown plastic windows are identical to their white counterparts, they are:

  • retain color well even after prolonged exposure to sunlight;
  • do not collapse or deform from sudden temperature fluctuations;
  • They tolerate high humidity without consequences.

The brown color also has one undoubted advantage - chips, scratches and other mechanical damage on them are not as noticeable as on a snow-white surface.

The brown color of the profile is given in two main ways:

  1. By adding acrylic paint to plastic at the production stage.
  2. Lamination of finished structures.

Modern technologies make it possible to create profiles, the shades of which vary from pastel tones to rich shades of chocolate. Brown windows make buildings more respectable and give them a solid and aristocratic image.

No. 7. How to change the color of plastic windows with your own hands?

Having seen enough examples of interesting solutions, many look at their white plastic windows with transparent glass with some longing. It would seem that they are still strong and airtight, there is no point in installing new ones, but I want something new. The solution is simple - you can slightly modernize the existing windows. The main thing is to weigh all your decisions so that the updated window fits into the interior.

So, what can you do with your own hands:

  • change profile color using lamination films. Some people prefer to use car films. The gluing technique remains the same. The film must first be cut, taking into account an allowance of 10-20 mm. The handle and other elements that may interfere are first removed from the window. It is most convenient to work with the sash dismantled. The surface must be degreased, and then proceed to gluing, acting carefully, gradually peeling off the protective coating and pressing the film against the profile. After this, the surface is smoothed with a squeegee, bubbles are removed, excess is cut off, and the film can be heated on the folds with warm air from a hair dryer. The durability of such a coating is lower than with factory lamination, but re-gluing the film is not so difficult. There are coatings of different colors and textures on sale;

  • You can also change the color of the profile by painting. Many people believe that this way the result will be more aesthetically pleasing than when covering it with film. It is advisable to first make a matte surface from a glossy surface - this way the paint will adhere better. You can sand it with sandpaper - the main thing is not to overdo it. Before painting, the plastic must be treated with a special cleaner for PVC; in extreme cases, dishwashing detergent will do - it also degreases the surface. Now all that remains is to seal the glass, prime the profile (choose products suitable for plastic or metal) and apply paint. Acrylic paints are best suited: they adhere well to a smooth surface, dry quickly, and do not fade. It is better to apply paint with a spray gun - this way you will be able to achieve the most uniform layer. Automotive paint, which comes in a spray can, is also suitable. Colors usually have a characteristic shine, but in some cases it will come in handy;

  • apply tint film with a tint or mirror effect on the glass unit. The manufacturer provides all instructions on the packaging. Most films have a self-adhesive backing, but there are also heat-shrinkable products that are glued using hot air;

  • matte and stained glass films They stick in about the same way as tint ones. On sale you can find coatings with different patterns. If you add stained glass film with decorative tin broaches on a self-adhesive base, you will be able to create a real masterpiece at home with your own hands;

  • false binding. It is necessary to think in advance about the decorative layout scheme, buy a profile of a suitable color and shape, cut it and stick it with sealant or double-sided tape - glue or liquid nails can leave marks on the glass.

Production specifics

The production of brown plastic structures is no different from their usual white counterparts, and the color is obtained through lamination technology. It consists of gluing a window profile to a film of the desired shade using molten adhesive. The result is a solid structure, characterized by strength, resistance to temperature changes and precipitation.

The guaranteed operating life of these models is longer than that of conventional ones; it is 20 years when used in a temperature range from -80C to + 125C.

Installation of plastic slopes

It should be noted that installing plastic slopes after installing plastic windows is not particularly difficult if you follow the step-by-step guide.

First you need to prepare the working surface - remove the mounting, then apply an antifungal compound to the window opening. The last preparation step is to apply a layer of waterproofing.

Let's start work. It should be noted that the installation of plastic slopes after the installation of plastic windows requires careful execution of the work. We attach a U-shaped profile along the perimeter of the window frame. This is done using self-tapping screws. Then you need to drive the rail right along the outside of the slopes. Then an F-shaped profile (there are several of them) is fixed onto it. The profiles are attached using a stapler. It is necessary to inspect the lath using a building level - if there are any deviations, then you need to level the plane. To do this you need to use pads. The slats themselves will also work as the latter. If there are none left, you can buy linings at any construction supermarket.

Slopes can be varied and unusual

It is not so difficult to install dark slopes on white windows after installing plastic windows. Starting from the upper side of the window opening, we deploy plastic panels - they are placed directly between the prepared profiles. After inserting one side of the plastic panel directly into the initial profile, it is necessary to strengthen the fastening. For this purpose, a specialized sealant is suitable, which is called “for slopes”. Before directly attaching the second side already in the F-shaped profile, it is necessary to manipulate the plastic. Under it you need to lay a layer of mineral wool, which will perform not only soundproofing functions, but also thermal insulation.

Just like windows, slopes can have a non-standard shape

If sandwich panels are used, then there is no need to use mineral wool, since such panels initially contain insulation. After fixing the upper slopes, installation of the side panels begins. Also, installing plastic slopes after installing plastic windows involves applying liquid plastic - they need to cover all the joints of the panels and those places where the panels connect to the window sill. So, the installation of the slopes is now complete!

Features of using dark windows when creating an interior

A light light shade or a strict dark brown color is often selected to match the facade of a building or the interior of a specific room . The color scheme of the profile can either be combined with the external or internal decoration, or contrast with it, standing out against a neutral background. Dark brown windows on a light facade will add charm and aristocracy to even the most frivolous building.

Designs in brown tones are often chosen for glazing loggias or summer verandas. In an urban setting, such designs look natural in houses made of beige, pastel, brick or brown materials. They fit well with modern architects' ideas and fit many design options.

Windows made of plastic with brown lamination can be single-sided or double-sided - that is, the brown film is applied to the frame on one or both sides of the glass. Single-sided laminated profiles are often chosen by lovers of classic interiors, who prefer to leave the windows white on the inside. Window sills, as a rule, are chosen to match the tone of the internal profile - warm wooden shades give the interior additional coziness and comfort.

Brown PVC windows with wood finish look ideal in wooden houses. The profile of such products has a specific texture that imitates wood fibers. At first glance, only trained people can distinguish metal-plastic analogues from wooden products.

An important role when choosing a shade for brown windows is played by the overall design idea of the facade, because the front side of the house should not only stand out from the background of other buildings, but also reflect the good taste of the owners. If desired, you can play with the color combination of the double-glazed window and the profile - an unusual selection of shades will become a signature difference between the house and standard buildings.

The light brown color of the windows blends harmoniously with brick walls of similar colors

Contrasting windows will add individuality to the building - they look bright and can become a noticeable element of the external decor or even its basis. Contrasting bay windows look even more elegant, but they require a more subtle approach to design.

Structures with an external lamination coating withstand weather surprises well - they do not fade from sunlight, do not crack from frost and sudden temperature fluctuations, and retain their aesthetics for a long time.

Plastic light-transmitting structures in brown shades are in harmony with brick walls. Designs with colors that match the brick or contrast with it look beautiful. Light stone will be effectively set off by dark mahogany-colored products.

Modern PVC window with wood effect in the interior of the apartment

As an additional decoration for brown windows, you can choose stained glass . They are especially good in wood-look designs, as they imitate the atmosphere of the Middle Ages.

You should not use dark shades when decorating the south side of the building - they attract the sun's rays and become very hot. For the same reason, it is recommended to abandon dark brown double-glazed windows in southern latitudes with long and hot summers. If dark structures are still installed on the sunny side, they need to be additionally reinforced.

From the inside, brown also looks good - it brings calm, warmth and a touch of intimacy to the room. Windows in natural shades decorate the room, improve mood and create a comfortable atmosphere.

Laminated plastic windows on the balcony

Window openings have been equipped with wooden frames since ancient times, but today practical plastic is increasingly replacing traditional materials. Wood-look PVC windows are chosen by those who want to combine time-tested classics and easy-to-use functionality in their home.

The design of colored windows does not differ from the design of conventional plastic products. Their shape and size can be any (within production capabilities), as well as being equipped with different options for double-glazed windows.

In architectural design, emphasis is often placed on dark profile finishing to give the building rigor and status. It is considered good practice to select a design in the same color scheme, for example, brown windows and a red-brown roof.

Additional elements of wood-look window systems

When installing colored windows, it is necessary to design the perimeter of the openings accordingly. For this, there are all the necessary elements, the integrated use of which facilitates the installation of window structures designed in the same style with the interior and facade plane.

Window sills

When installing brown windows, window sills made of wood, plastic, natural and artificial stone, as well as wood-plastic composite can be installed on the inside of the opening. The final choice of material depends on the type of profile and interior design. The dimensions of the window sills and the number of decors will allow you to implement any design project.

Slope systems

These structures are designed for cladding sections of walls around the opening. They are available for external and internal use. Sloping systems allow you not only to improve, but also to insulate windows along their perimeter. These structures consist of fastening elements, connecting profiles, platbands and sandwich panels.

Nashchelniki

Painted metal and plastic elements are designed for installation on the outside of windows. They ennoble openings and protect assembly seams from atmospheric agents. They are mainly used when installing windows made of plastic or aluminum profiles.

Low tides

Brown flashings can be made from sheet steel or aluminum. In any case, they are painted with powder enamel. Aluminum flashings are more expensive, but they absorb sound better and have good rigidity.

Varieties

Like all plastic windows, brown structures differ in the type of glass unit:

  • Single-chamber - for the southern regions.
  • Two-chamber – for the middle zone.
  • Three-chamber - for the northern regions.
  • Triplex is glass with increased reliability.

In addition, color designs differ from each other depending on what kind of lamination was used. One-sided color coating - the window is covered with film inside or outside, most often used by apartment owners to create an individual interior. Double-sided color coating is the optimal solution for country houses and cottages, when the window is harmoniously combined with both the exterior decoration of the building and its interior.

Bedroom arrangement

Blackout curtains for the bedroom are best suited; in any home this can be considered an ideal place for such material, which is completely protective and will not allow bright sunlight, which affects normal rest and daytime sleep. Also, now many of us love bright colors in design, and dark-colored fabric will harmonize perfectly with this kind of interior.

It should be noted that black curtains look great if they are combined with beautiful white lambrequins and other decorations, decor and accessories, making the interior atmosphere truly unique and beautiful.

How to choose black curtains

They can be bought in a store in a ready-made kit, or sewn to order. In any case, the right choice depends on the style and size of the room. Small rooms will “like” translucent, lightweight curtains in “wet asphalt” color. Short curtains for the kitchen can also be like this.

Moreover, it is advisable to choose a set for this room in a light shade, and an even one will also act as decor or finishing. In the living room, bedroom with black curtains, the concentration of this color in the overall interior should not be more than 15%.

If the owners chose to sew curtains from thick fabric, it is necessary to equip the room with lighting fixtures, making sure to illuminate the window area. It is not an option to buy only black curtains; you can find variations of this tone: dark gray, chocolate, anthracite.

Features of window design with a balcony

If you can go out from the bedroom onto a balcony or loggia, then when choosing a suitable design you should take this into account. The design of the curtains should make it possible to swing the door open and leave a passage for a person. A convenient pick-up or magnetic holder can help with this.

You can use blinds, roller blinds or Roman blinds. In this case, a ceiling cornice is better suited, since its height will allow the door to open unhindered.

If the balcony block is decorated with simple curtains, you should pay attention to the fact that the hook devices slide easily through the cells, and the curtain or tulle can be easily moved to the side

Material

Manufacturers use both natural (budget cotton and more expensive silk) and synthetic (reliable and affordable polyester) fibers. Most often, for reasons of practicality, threads of different origins are combined in one product.

Under one name “tulle” mesh fabrics with different weaving structures are combined:

  • a romantic and delicate veil with a hazy effect that requires careful handling, otherwise, at best, there will be snags, and at worst, the threads will unravel;
  • light, thin, minimalist cambric with low wear resistance;
  • universal and affordable chiffon, easy to drape and does not lose its properties when washed;
  • patterned lace fabric;
  • light and breathable mesh with large cells;
  • openwork muslin;
  • dense and practical muslin, the disadvantage of which is poor breathability;
  • beautiful and durable organza that perfectly transmits light and does not fade in the sun;
  • transparent but snag-resistant tulle, used mainly for volumetric decoration, as tulle for two windows, for example;
  • translucent, matte crepe with a rough, wrinkle-free texture that allows the fabric to drape perfectly;
  • a header with characteristic creases that cannot be smoothed out.

The fabric and its texture, along with the design, determine how harmoniously the product will fit in. When using tulle and curtains at the same time, keep in mind that thick and heavy curtains will complement the translucent fabric well.

Curtains for the living room: photos of stylish design

The functionality of curtains can be combined with an attractive appearance. Just choose their color and pattern according to the style of the room. However, the basic rule that applies in almost all cases is to ensure the correct length, that is, from ceiling to floor.

The natural quality of drapes is their elegance, making them ideal for classically furnished Art Deco living rooms or period-style rooms. Luxury is emphasized by materials such as:

  • velours;
  • jacquard;
  • velvet.

Oriental embroidered patterns, for example, golden colors, which will add an interesting texture, will also look good.

Fabrics for black curtains

Recently, designers have been advising the use of natural fabrics in window decoration. These are linen, cotton, organza, chiffon, satin, burlap, matting, chintz.

Black linen curtains look great in the bedroom, creating a touch of mystery and unsurpassed comfort. By the way, you can also choose a curtain made from natural linen. Modern manufacturers produce the finest linen tulle with lace or translucent type.

In the hall, black curtains made of a cotton-linen mixture will also look excellent. But you can order red and black curtains for the kitchen. Especially if the interior and furniture are made in these colors.
