LG Corporation is over 60 years old. Our main goal was, is and will be to produce high-quality products and provide service at the highest level, exceeding customer expectations. Gaining our place in the world, we turned opportunities into achievements in the field of construction and finishing materials. LG Hausys grew out of LG Chem, which is the parent company of the entire LG group. Thousands of our employees work diligently in the industry of translucent structures and finishing materials to create the individual appearance of your home.
On August 26, 2011, the Korean chemical concern LG Hausys officially opened its second Russian plant for the production of PVC window profiles in Elekstrostal near Moscow.
Note that Russia has become the fourth country in the world, after South Korea, India and China, where LG Hausys production facilities are located today, producing LG plastic window profiles.
The first Russian plant was opened in Novokuznetsk in 2010. The new production near Moscow has been shipping since June 2011. The plant is located on the territory of the first industrial park "EDSK" in Elektrostal with a total area of 5400 square meters. m. The production facility has 15 Korean-made extrusion lines for processing its own PVC raw materials. The plant's capacity at this stage is 20 thousand tons of PVC profiles per year. Within 2 years, production capacity is planned to be increased to 50 thousand tons.

Adjusting the plastic window
Plastic windows do not need to be adjusted unless necessary: just in case or for prevention. The need for adjustment arises in specific cases:
the bottom or middle part of the sash touches the frame
the window does not close well;
it blows from the closed porch.
When such problems arise, you first need to understand whether they can be solved by adjustment. This can be done in two ways:
Measure the lengths of the diagonals of the problematic sash.
You can adjust it if the difference is no more than 5–6 mm.
Trace with a pencil the outline of the closed sash on the frame in the corners and along the middle of the edges.
Then open the sash and look at the distance from the marks to the edges of the sash opening in the frame. If the distances are not the same, there is a skew. It can be eliminated by adjustment if the difference is no more than 2–3 mm.
This check is associated with the travel limit of the adjusting screws, which is about 2 mm. If the distortion is greater, adjustment will not help; you need to restore the rectangular shape of the sash - for this, call a specialist.
First of all, when adjusting the window, the distortion is eliminated. This, as a rule, solves all problems, including blowing. If the window continues to blow, you need to adjust the pressure.
To make adjustments, you do not need to thoroughly know the structure of plastic windows; just read the instructions and stock up on a minimum set of tools. We will tell you about everything in order further.
Adjusting plastic windows left and right
It is necessary to adjust horizontally if the window sash is skewed and it does not open well. This can happen over time because the sash is heavy and sags under its own weight. In this case, we first adjust the top of the sash.
In pivoting sashes, the left-right top adjustment screw is located horizontally in the top hinge. The hole for the hexagon is located at the end of the hinge
In swing-and-turn sashes, the screw is located in the scissors. The hexagon hole is also on the side

Adjusting plastic windows yourself
Purchasing and installing even the most expensive double-glazed windows is only half the battle. In order for the purchase to properly perform the functions assigned to it, you need to know how to adjust plastic windows . Whether to do it yourself or call a professional - everyone needs to decide individually. If the warranty period has not expired, then it would be logical to call a specialist from the company where you purchased the PVC windows. And if the warranty has long expired, then you can try to adjust the windows yourself . The adjustment is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance, the main thing is to follow the instructions of the window manufacturer.
Almost all modern PVC windows are adjustable in three planes , so setting the frame exactly to the level is not particularly difficult. Before you start work, be sure to read the instructions for your model - regardless of the general principles and sequence of actions, which tool is needed.
Important to know: In addition, you should remember to periodically adjust the metal fittings on modern metal-plastic window structures depending on the time of year. Thanks to the timely installation of winter mode, it will be possible to avoid such unpleasant consequences as “crying” windows (Why do plastic windows sweat).
How to adjust plastic window hinges
Typical PVC windows rarely have a window for ventilating the room - such a model is considered non-standard and leads to an increase in the cost of the final product due to more waste. Ventilation is carried out by turning the handle to the upper position (the so-called ventilation mode), and a special loop is responsible for the latter. If a plastic window does not close well , then you need to start with them. Depending on the location of the hinges, there may be horizontal adjustment (horizontal adjustments) or vertical.
The upper hinge usually breaks off if the window was opened incorrectly or abruptly. A poor fit prevents the seal from closing tightly and leads to blowouts . To eliminate this, press the sash against the frame and make several opening and closing movements, stopping in the “closed” position.
If uncharacteristic clicks are noticed when opening and closing, this means that the side and bottom hinges have weakened and began to touch the frame. This often happens in old houses - the building shrinks , which, first of all, is reflected in the windows. Open the window, find the hinges, and in them there are adjusting tools (special hexagons). Using a 4 mm wrench, adjust the position of the shutters by turning the hexagons, alternately loosening and tightening the screws. The thread is right-handed, tighten it clockwise, unscrew it counterclockwise. This method eliminates bevels by shifting the frame.

Do-it-yourself adjustment of plastic windows
It is not enough to install a PVC window block in the opening. It still needs to be adjusted correctly so that the doors close tightly and without problems. Also, periodic adjustments of the window must then be made independently or with the help of craftsmen in the spring and autumn in order to switch it to summer or winter operating mode. Moreover, this setting should be treated with utmost care. This is necessary not only to get rid of drafts, but also to increase the service life of the translucent structure.

Winter and summer mode adjustments
In winter, the plastic window should be closed as tightly as possible in order to reduce air exchange between the street and the room to a minimum. Nobody needs street cold in the house in winter. In summer, on the contrary, even when closed, it should provide some air circulation (micro-ventilation) so that the room does not become too stuffy due to the heat.
Seasonal adjustment of a home window by switching it to “summer” or “winter” mode is carried out using locking pins on the side of the opening sash. They can be fixed rectangular or roller (round with a notch on one side or oval).
Types of trunnions on plastic windows
Depending on the type, adjustment of this fitting is done by turning it manually, using pliers, a screwdriver or a hex wrench. Moreover, in some cases, before turning, the mechanism must be pulled towards you, and only then turned.
How to adjust window pressure
The window trunnion can be set in one of three positions:
- “WINTER” – with maximum pressure.
- “SUMMER” – with weak pressure.
- Neutral (standard).
In the first case, on the round pin the risk is turned towards the street, and the oval one is set horizontally. In the second, the risk is installed inward, and the oval stands vertically. The third option - the dash looks up, the oval is fixed at an angle.
Instead of a movable pin on the sash, some manufacturers of window blocks install a non-adjustable locking element in the shape of a rectangle. In this case, adjusting the plastic window is only possible by adjusting the screw on the strike plate.
Window adjustment for winter and summer periods
The main point of seasonal adjustment of window sashes is the need to constantly transfer them from “summer” to “winter” and back. With strong “winter” pressure, the rubber seal is compressed, which is why it gradually begins to deteriorate. Often, owners of PVC windows are faced with the fact that after a few years this rubber band has to be changed. This happens precisely because the sash, according to the instructions of the window product manufacturer, is not switched to summer mode with a weakened pressure, but is left as is after winter.
How to adjust the hinges of a plastic window?
In addition to seasonal adjustments to the degree of pressure, plastic windows are also adjusted by tightening/loosening the screws in the hinges that secure the sashes to the frame. There are two of them - one below, the second above. They differ in design, so they are pressed differently.
