The window sill is an integral part of the window opening in most houses and apartments, and this magical place very often turns out to be undeservedly ignored. We decided to correct the situation and talk about five ways to make an ordinary window sill a salvation and joy. And we are not talking about putting everything unnecessary on it and covering it with a curtain, not at all! - At your own peril and risk, you can use the cheapest ones, such as plastic or chipboard, but other than price, these materials have no advantages. Plastic is not durable, easily scratched and dirty, and does not like temperature fluctuations. Chipboard is afraid of moisture, crumbles and is generally unsafe for health.
- MDF, unlike chipboard, is not afraid of moisture and is more durable. Its cost is higher, but it is environmentally friendly and looks aesthetically pleasing.
- The best option is wood. It is ideal for both a desk and a sofa.
- A stone surface is more suitable for a kitchen set. Moreover, you can choose the option that suits your budget. Artificial stone is much cheaper than natural stone, but inferior to it both in appearance and durability.
Naturally, before using a window sill instead of furniture (this is especially true for a sofa and bed), you should thoroughly insulate the entire window.
Bar counter
If the view from the window has an awakening effect on you, then you can equip a bar counter on the windowsill, where every morning you will enjoy a cup of aromatic coffee while contemplating the landscape outside the window.
