Hi all! Today I want to touch on the topic of window decor. Curtains and tulle are becoming a thing of the past; they are being replaced by modern and stylish blinds and roller blinds. But not everyone understands how to attach them.

Some people think that it is necessary to drill an opening for them. But in fact, modern roller blinds can be fixed without drilling. Want to know how? Read the article.

Plastic windows are distinguished by a lot of positive qualities, including strength, durability, and reliable protection of the room from noise and dust. To increase the comfort and aesthetics of the interior of the premises, curtains are attached to the windows, roller curtains are very popular among them.

This article is all about installing roller blinds without drilling (you can learn more about the features of self-installation of protective curtains by watching the video).

Features and advantages of roller blinds

Modern double-glazed windows have replaced classic wooden windows in residential, public and industrial buildings. The interior of rooms with installed plastic windows requires alternative design solutions, especially for curtains and curtains.

Manufacturers offer a wide selection of roller blinds that fit perfectly into modern interiors and perfectly complement the design of any room. A special feature of such curtains is a unique method of fastening, which does not damage the walls or the double-glazed windows themselves.

Roller blinds can be used as an independent element of finishing window openings, or combined with classic curtains. The positive side of using such curtains in the interior with classic fabric curtains is the protection against fading in the sun that roller blinds provide.

In addition, roller blinds have a number of positive qualities:

  • Versatility - curtains can be used on double-glazed windows of any design.
  • Practicality – roller blinds are durable, strong, and easy to care for.
  • Environmental safety - curtains are made from environmentally friendly materials that do not cause diseases and do not emit toxic substances into the air.
  • High functional performance - with the help of roller blinds it is possible to reliably isolate the room from access to sunlight, while the curtains themselves are not subject to fading and retain their original color and appearance.
  • Wide range of design solutions - manufacturers produce curtains in a wide range of colors, it is not difficult to easily choose ones that suit any interior.
  • Easy to install - curtains are easy to install; it does not require special professional skills or expensive installation equipment.

London type

Curtains of this class cascade, and the bottom frill is somewhat akin to a New Year's garland.

It is recommended to place English-type curtains on small windows of rooms facing north, because... they let in a significant amount of sunlight.

The design of the curtains contains traditional British motifs - large roses, checks, vertical stripes, floral motifs. Such drawings fit very well into the design of small windows.

Typically, London curtains are used to decorate kitchens, bathrooms and hallways.

Types of roller blinds

Roller blinds are usually divided into several types depending on the method of fastening used and the design features of the curtain lifting mechanism.

The main types are:

  1. “Mini” - used on plastic windows of simple designs. In them, the drum with the canvas is open. These curtains are fastened using self-tapping screws or double-sided mounting tape. The design is lightweight, so it is attached to the tape quite firmly. Roll systems of simple design, which include “Mini,” are economical and affordable for all segments of consumers.
  2. Cassette system "UNI" - in this design the curtain is located inside the box, its movement is carried out along the side guides. The box is securely mounted on a plastic window profile, and the occurrence of gaps and gaps is absolutely eliminated. The laminated box can have different colors, tinted to resemble natural wood, or made to match the double-glazed windows. The UNI system is attached directly to the frame, without the need to drill mounting holes. When installing the system, the equipment is hung using self-tapping screws to the glazing beads.
  3. Double curtains “UNI-2” - this engineering system, equipped with a modern spring mechanism, is the most advanced. "UNI-2" is installed in the upper and lower parts of the double-glazed window, which allows you to open the curtains up and down. To make double curtains, fabrics of various textures and colors with varying degrees of light transmission are used. The combination of fabrics achieves the optimal ratio to ensure the desired degree of illumination in the room. The guides are installed outside the window opening and are shaped like the letter “P”.

Manufacturers produce Zebra roller blinds, which differ from other roller blinds in the design of the fabric. The curtain consists of alternating strips of dense fabric and light-transmitting fabric, which makes it easy to change the intensity of the light flux without raising the curtains.

Varieties

Divided into two groups:

  1. Open ones are the simplest models, in which there are no guides and a box hiding the metal shaft. Suitable for installation in doorways and window sashes. This system, similar to ordinary blinds, is controlled by a chain and is more cost-effective than others.
  2. Cassette or closed type are equipped with a decorative box called a cassette, where the textile fabric and the roller itself are hidden when twisted. Cassette roller blinds are best suited for installation on plastic windows, when it is important to avoid drilling holes in the frame.

Roller blinds open system

Depending on the purpose and features of use, there are different types of roller systems:

  1. “Standard” is a suitable choice for double-hung windows.
  2. “Lux” is a reinforced design for decorating large openings.
  3. “Uni” is a system that is characterized by a tight fit of the textile strip to the glass and eliminates sagging of the material. Suitable for windows whose sashes are often opened or tilted for ventilation.
  4. “Mini” is the simplest and most economical model. Suitable for mounting on a blind or opening sash, it is convenient and easy to install.

Due to their ability to reflect, scatter and absorb sunlight, rolls of canvas for window decoration are called light filters.

Transparent

Dim Out

Black Out

Day-night system
The following varieties are distinguished:

  1. Translucent ones partially transmit light and retain heat. Most often, models made from this material are combined with a traditional curtain.
  2. Dim Out – reflective system. The canvas is protected by a special layer that acts on the rays of the sun, like a mirror.
  3. Black Out is impenetrable matter. Such fabric can provide absolute light insulation and reduce indoor temperature by 20-22%.
  4. The Day-Night system represents an alternation of transparent and light-opaque horizontal stripes on one canvas. As a rule, these products do not need to be twisted.

Features of installing roller blinds

When installing roller blinds, there is no need to drill mounting holes, which undoubtedly simplifies the entire process of hanging the equipment. There are two types of fastenings for roller window systems:

  • Fastening with hooks that simply cling to the top of the sash.
  • Fastening equipment with double-sided construction tape.

Attention! The surfaces on which construction tape is glued must first be degreased.

Detailed recommendations for installing curtains with step-by-step instructions are included with each purchased product. By following the instructions for assembling curtains offered by the manufacturer, you can easily and quickly complete the work yourself.

When installing roller blinds, be sure to use a building level; this will protect against distortions and help secure the curtains as accurately as possible.

Installation of Uni systems

You will not find blinds of this design on sale ready-made, because every millimeter of the width of the canvas is important for their installation and normal operation. Therefore, if it is not possible to call a measurer to your home, but you can order curtains by phone or on the manufacturer’s website, you will have to do the measurements yourself.

How to take measurements

For the “Uni 1” and “Uni 2” systems, measurements are performed differently.

Advice. For more accurate measurements, use a long metal ruler or tape measure rather than a tailor's tape measure.

Guides for Uni 1 curtains are attached to the glazing bead on the glass side, so for windows with straight glazing beads, measurements are taken as follows:

  • The width of the canvas should be equal to the width of the glass in the sash. You can make it literally 1-2 mm smaller to ensure free movement;
  • the height of the canvas is the height of the glass between the upper and lower glazing beads.

If the beads are beveled, measurements are taken from their middle.

Types of glazing beads

Guides for curtains “Uni 2” are attached to the frame along the glazing beads. In this case it is measured like this:

  • the width of the canvas is equal to the distance between the outer grooves of the glazing beads plus 2 cm: 1 cm for the width of each guide;
  • the height is equal to the height of the window sash with frame.

Measurement scheme

It is important! The geometry of a window block is not always ideal, so all measurements of width and height must be made at three levels and the smallest value taken into account.

Installing roller blinds on plastic windows without drilling

The popularity of using plastic windows has made it possible to take a new approach to the design of window openings.
A wide range of window accessories will satisfy even the most demanding customers. Roller blinds have gained well-deserved popularity when draping windows; one of the main advantages of roller blinds is the ability to install roller blinds on plastic windows without drilling.

In order to hang the roller blind model you like on the window, you do not need a specialized tool (drill or hammer drill), and there is no need to make complex measurements.

All you need is a pencil, and everything else has been carefully prepared by the manufacturers of this wonderful window accessory.

But before you start installing roller blinds on plastic windows, you need to understand what types of roller shutters there are, how they differ and what features each type of design has, because it is the combination of different characteristics that allows you to achieve incredible transformations in the design of rooms.

Types of curtains

Decorating windows with curtains is so popular all over the world that there are several types of curtains, popular among different nations, that they got their name from the place of invention in one country or another in the world. The most famous varieties are:

  • classic;
  • Austrian;
  • Romanesque;
  • Italian;
  • Japanese;
  • Chinese;
  • roll options.

Let's look at the features of some types.

Roller blinds MINI system

Installing minirolls on PVC windows without drilling is exactly about this type of construction. The mini roller blind system is adapted specifically for mounting on a Euro window sash and allows you to make the accessory almost invisible, a roll of fabric is wound on a specially reduced aluminum shaft with a diameter of 17 mm.

This design is widely used in decorating plastic windows due to its low cost and wide variability of finished products suitable for standard sizes of plastic windows.

A weighting strip is provided at the bottom of the canvas to ensure uniform tension of the material. This system is attached directly to the window sash using miniature brackets.

Curtain fabrics

The material from which the curtains are made is of great importance. The quality of raw materials is the main guarantor of long-term operation and comfort of family members.

The most common materials are:

  • veil;
  • organza;
  • linen;
  • silk;
  • cotton.

Let's consider the pros and cons of the listed materials.

Roller blinds of the Standard system

Also called classic. A distinctive feature of this type of roller blind design is the diameter of the cornice, which is from 25 mm to 35 mm (an aluminum tube on which the fabric is wound).

The canvas in such a system is free-hanging. It does not have lower fixation and lateral restrictions (guides as in the uni system). There is also a weighting strip at the bottom of the canvas. This system is attached to the top of the window opening, and since the mount is universal, the curtain can be attached to both the ceiling and the wall.

If you are looking for roller blinds to darken a large opening area. The roller blind of the standard system is exactly what you need.

Designer fantasies - options

The window provides endless possibilities for imagination and the embodiment of ideas; there is nothing impossible or forbidden in its design, and this is clearly visible in the photo.

At all times, people have tried to decorate windows, and today attention is also focused on them, because they are the eyes of the house. It is the design of the window that is the final touch to the interior of the room and gives it comfort.

Cassette type roller blinds

The shaft on which the fabric is wound is hidden in a decorative plastic box; the box is made in different colors, can be made to look like wood or imitate the structure of a double-glazed window.
Most often, cassette-type roller blinds are mounted on the window sash. Depending on the shape of the window bead, cassette curtains are made in two versions UNI 1 and UNI 2.

The difference is the fastening of the guides; in the first case, the guides are attached to the inner surface of the bead, and the canvas is as close to the glass as possible.

In the second case, U-shaped guides are used, which are attached to the outside of the bead. The fabric sheet of the roller blind does not move between the glass and the guide, but between the border of the frame and the guide, resulting in a gap of 10 mm between the window and the sheet.

To prevent the fabric from “walking” during opening and closing of the window sash, in open structures, fishing line is used as guides, which reliably fixes the fabric sheet in height.

In closed structures, plastic guides are used, which, in addition to fixing the roller blinds, completely limit the penetration of light by attaching them to the outer or inner side of the window sash bead.

Methods for installing roller blinds

Depending on the tasks and design features of the installation site, various methods of installing roller blinds are used.

Down up

Roller blinds Bottom-up

— at their core, these are Uni-2 cassette roller blinds with a spring mechanism (PIM) or (PIM) installed upside down. It is also possible to install these curtains so that the fabric opens from right to left or vice versa. The roll of fabric, which is closed with a decorative box, in this case, will be positioned vertically, and the fabric sheet will be closed/opened horizontally. The system is relevant for the first and underground (basement) floors of buildings, when it is required that the lower part of the window be closed and the upper part slightly open. Let me clarify that pleated curtains can also open from bottom to top.

Advantages:

  • Solves a specific problem
  • Convenience
  • Reliability
  • Maintainability

Flaws:

  • Price
  • Only one system of roller blinds can be installed from bottom to top (Uni-2 with PIM mechanism)
  • Not all manufacturers produce
  • Only to order

Roller blinds for window sash

- This is the most popular and convenient type of installation of roller blinds.

Advantages:

  • Price
  • Convenience
  • Saves space on the windowsill
  • Reliability
  • Maintainability
  • Possibility to install both free-hanging and cassette curtains
  • You can buy ready-made options in the shopping center

Flaws:

  • Drill the window frame (if not using tape)
  • Limits the opening angle of the sash (not always)

Into the opening

Roller blinds in the opening

- a practical option for installing roller blinds. It can be installed either on the side slopes or on the top slopes of the window, or on the window frame itself. In this case, you need to look at how and what the slopes are made of. This is necessary in order to determine whether the curtain will be securely fastened. Often, slopes are made of special siding, which is not very durable, and the fasteners will not hold well. It is possible that the handle of the swing sash will interfere with the fabric, or vice versa, the roll of fabric, when the window sash is opened. If one of the listed reasons is present, then it is better to install the roller blind on the wall, thereby covering the entire opening.

Advantages:

  • Price
  • Convenience
  • Reliability
  • Maintainability
  • Possibility to install only free-hanging systems
  • You can buy ready-made options in the shopping center
  • Present on Aliexpress
  • You can install an electric drive

Flaws:

  • Drill a slope or window frame
  • There is no possibility of installation on tape

On the wall

Roller blinds on the wall

— when installing a roller blind on a wall, first of all, look to see if any objects (switches, etc.) will interfere with the operation of the curtain. Decide on the height of the product, it is better to take it with a reserve, and adjust the actual height using chain limiters.

Advantages:

  • Price
  • Convenience
  • Reliability
  • Maintainability
  • Possibility to install only free-hanging systems
  • You can buy ready-made options in the shopping center
  • Present on Aliexpress
  • You can install an electric drive

Flaws:

  • Drill a wall or window frame
  • There is no possibility of installation on tape

To the ceiling

Roller blinds for the ceiling

— in some cases, it is necessary to install roller blinds on the ceiling or on the upper, horizontal slope of the window. In this case, the brackets are screwed to a horizontal plane and the roller blind functions properly. Unless of course the ceiling is suspended. If it is not possible to install the products on the ceiling, but you need to place the roll as close to the ceiling as possible, then simply install the roller blinds on the wall, as close to the ceiling as possible.

Advantages:

  • Price
  • Convenience
  • Reliability
  • Maintainability
  • Possibility to install only free-hanging systems
  • You can buy ready-made options in the shopping center
  • Present on Aliexpress
  • You can install an electric drive

Flaws:

  • Drill the ceiling or window slope
  • There is no possibility of installation on tape

For roof/slanted windows

Roller blinds for attic/slanted windows

— it is possible to install both free-hanging ones, complete with fishing line or cables, and cassette ones. When removing the size, it is necessary to take into account the angle of inclination of the wall or window and the density of the fabric. If the fabric is heavy, for example blackout, and the angle is significant, then the fabric can still sag. In addition, you may encounter the problem that the curtain fabric will not fall down well.

Advantages:

  • Price
  • Convenience
  • Reliability
  • Maintainability
  • Possibility to install both free-hanging and cassette systems
  • You can buy ready-made options in the shopping center
  • Present on Aliexpress

Flaws:

  • Drill the ceiling or window slope
  • There is no possibility of installation on tape

Fabrics in roller blinds

The use of fabrics with different light transmission characteristics allows you to solve various problems indoors. From light diffusion of light (lightweight fabric) to complete darkness using blackout fabrics.

Translucent

Simple light-diffusing roller blinds are made from a single layer of synthetic fabric. This fabric allows some light to pass through even when the curtain is completely closed. The main advantages of such curtains include:

Affordable price and a wide range of colors, prints and curtains with different fabric textures. The synthetic material at the base makes the curtains reliable and durable in use. Resistant to temperature changes and high humidity.

This type of fabric is perfect if you want to highlight design elements or, conversely, hide a lack of space using light solid colors in a mini roller blind system.

Blackout

Lightproof blackout roller blinds have the following design.
The curtain itself consists of three fabrics; the first and third layers are made from ordinary synthetic fabric, and the central one is made from completely light-proof blackout fabric. External synthetic fabrics can be made in any color or have an intricate texture or pattern. This type of roller blind is perfect for decorating a nursery, photo studio or presentation room.

Day Night

Another type of roller blinds are day-night curtains; light control is carried out simply because The double fabric consists of dense colored stripes and mesh stripes alternating with each other.

Allows you to play with light and shadow, creating a comfortable darkening or leaving a clear view from the window. This type of curtain combines the advantages of classic blinds and the advantages of original roller blinds.

The advantage over classic roller blinds is that it is easier to see the space outside the window; you do not need to lift the entire curtain, you just need to slightly move the transparent fabric.

Different system options allow you to install a day-night roller blind both on a window sash without drilling using double-sided tape, and in the classic way on the entire window opening.

If the kitchen is small, then it is better to choose light colors, they will visually add volume. If the kitchen is large, then simple light colors will not look expressive, but various decorative finishing elements, curtains with photo prints, bright and light colors will add variety.

Roller blinds not only provide a good view of the window, but also perform a sun protection function.

Translucent blue fabric makes the room airy and cooler. The warm colors of the fabric emphasize the cozy atmosphere created in the room.

Please note that the roller blind has a width of 5 to 10 cm. Thus, after installing the roller blind on the window, a protrusion will appear that may prevent the sash from opening, take into account the increase in distance before installation.

Panel curtains

One of the names of Japanese curtains. Made from natural fabrics. Can be moved in one or both directions. In their laconic appearance they resemble a screen. The advantages include:

  • practicality and functionality;
  • can be used for zoning space.

Used in rooms decorated in minimalist interiors.

Features of caring for roller blinds

Favorite places for dust and dirt particles to accumulate are the folds of the fabric and the upper surface of the roller.
As a rule, this happens if the roller blind has not been used for more than one week. The simplest and most effective way to dry clean roller blinds is to use a vacuum cleaner. To do this, you need to remove the roller with the canvas, after first lifting the roller blind.

Carefully spread it on a flat surface and use a vacuum cleaner at a low power level to prevent the fabric from “chewing” or bending.

If there are fresh stains on the fabric, for example, left by fingers. An alcohol wipe works great; just gently rub it over the stained area to completely get rid of the new stain.

You can also use a regular eraser for this purpose.

If a stagnant stain is found on the roller blind and the methods described above did not help, then you can use the wet method of cleaning the roller blinds.

The simplest and most accessible way is to use a regular sponge and dishwashing detergent. Apply a few drops of detergent to the soft side of the sponge, squeeze the sponge a little until foam appears, and then walk the damp surface over the dirty area.

If the contamination is extensive and it is not possible to remove it with improvised means, then the most correct decision would be to seek professional help from a dry cleaner.

The open control mechanism also requires a little attention, which will have to be lubricated from time to time, no more than once a year. Any silicone-based lubricant is suitable for this.

Using a cassette roller blind on a plastic window with blackout fabric in a children's room together with patterned tulle. It will completely isolate the room from daylight. And the side guides will prevent the penetration of angular light by hiding the gap between the edge of the fabric with plastic guides.

  • The fabrics of roller blinds are impregnated with a special composition. This will allow the roller blinds not to fade in the sun and are not afraid of dirt.
  • Dust and pet hair do not stick to roller blinds. Luckily, the housewife doesn’t even need to wash them, but simply wipe them with a cloth.
  • In some models of roller blinds, antibacterial substances are used in the impregnation composition
  • Roller blinds do not wrinkle
  • The lowering and raising of the fabric roller shutter is controlled using control mechanisms, which eliminates touching the fabric, allowing you to avoid unnecessary contamination. And making the light supply process smoother and more accurate.
  • Combine decorativeness and functionality
  • Compact, when closed the roller blind is practically invisible.

Roller blinds in the kitchen

The kitchen is the place where every housewife spends a significant part of her time, which is why every detail in interior design is so important. The use of different colors in the design can significantly change the atmosphere of the kitchen by increasing the space or adding zest by adding illustrations to the interior on a specific theme.

The best option would be to use mini roller blinds with fastening without drilling. For a greater insulation effect both from direct rays and from the prying eyes of passers-by, you can use a cassette design with blackout fabric.

If you need to be able to control the flow of light, roller blinds are perfect, day-night, which are also mounted on a separate window sash without the use of a drill.

In office premises

In office premises, an excellent solution would be to use roller blinds with a light transmittance of 50%; this will allow you to avoid sunlight, and the evenly transmitted light will not distract from work, also eliminating the appearance of glare on computer monitors.

In conference rooms, curtains with blackout fabric that completely isolate light are suitable. Allowing you to concentrate on negotiations, and the simplicity of the design of roller blinds is an undoubted advantage over classic blinds or fabric models.

Design options for one curtain

One-sided curtains are especially suitable for classic, country and Provence styles. Such curtains must be complemented by asymmetry in the interior of the room itself. The positive side of this model:

  • minimum material;
  • easy to use, it is secured with a clamp and can be opened if necessary;
  • does not retain sunlight or air;
  • allows you to significantly change the interior of the room.

One-sided curtains are suitable for both a large hall and a small kitchen.

To decorate a nursery

When decorating a children's room, you need to pay special attention to window drapery. Thus, the use of classic fabric curtains can lead to the appearance of a source of dust accumulation, which is not very favorable if your child is still a toddler.

Excessive and constant exposure to bright, glare light can also lead to discomfort. The importance of illustrations and drawings in design elements cannot be underestimated. Using roller blinds on plastic windows to decorate a nursery will solve all this problem.

Taking into account the interests of the child, you can choose a photo print with your favorite characters; installing a mini design on the window sash will free up the window sill, using the freed up space for your favorite fakes.

Thick, light-proof blackout fabrics will not only protect your baby's daytime sleep, but also maintain room temperature, creating a natural barrier to cold air on winter days.

Window decoration in the bedroom

The most important purpose of curtains in the bedroom is to ensure comfortable sleep and relaxation. Whatever the curtains are, the fabric from which they are made must be light-proof and dense. And then the curtains will be able to provide comfortable rest, creating twilight, even during the daytime.

Roman curtains can be safely chosen for bedrooms where there is a small window. Through the rolled fabric, the sun's rays will not be able to penetrate into the bedroom, and the curtains will preserve the mystery of the created interior solution.

When decorating a window opening in the bedroom, the textiles chosen are the same as those on the bed. This is a popular design technique that recreates a complete, harmonious picture.

Curtains can be made from the same material as the soft headboard of the bed. It is not necessary to use tulle in the bedroom; its purpose is purely aesthetic.

A bedroom with a bay window is a difficult option to implement. In this area you can place roller blinds or blinds, and the room is decorated with curtains of darker shades.

Screen canvases will look aesthetically pleasing and beneficial in semicircular rooms. It is better to use translucent material.

Attaching a mini roller blind to a plastic window sash without drilling

We measure the width - It is necessary to measure the width of the window glass and add it to the width of the glazing beads on both sides (a glazing bead is a plastic strip with a rubber seal, the main purpose of the glazing bead is to strengthen the window from the inside, prevent the penetration of dust from the street, and also enhance the sound insulation effect.) This will help. block the flow of daylight.

  • We measure the length - The length is the height of the entire window sash.
  • Degrease the surface - For better gluing, it is recommended to degrease the contact areas of the adhesive tape on the curtain parts and on the double-glazed window frame.
  • assembling - We connect the mechanism bracket with the window clamp.
  • Prepare for marking - We install the assembled brackets on the roller blind, mount it on the window for subsequent marking on adhesive tape.
  • Putting marks - We mark with a pencil the boundaries of the location of the brackets to the window frame.
  • We attach it to the sash. — Remove the protective surface from the double-sided tape and fasten the bracket according to the marks marked on the frame.

Installation of roller blinds

Choosing the location of the control mechanism - The chain control mechanism is usually placed on the side where the window hinges are attached, minimizing the visibility of additional elements.
Installation of the guide string. To avoid sagging, a fishing line is used; this will allow the roller blind to fit tightly to the frame.

We fasten the guide string in the eye of the upper bracket, cut off the excess length of the string and pass the curtain through the eye of the lower curtain weight.

At the bottom of the sash we attach a fishing line weight, thread the string into the eye of the tensioner and secure it using a rotary locking mechanism.

To fix the upper position of the curtain, you need to fully raise the curtain and use the clamp included in the kit and set it to the desired height. We do the same thing to fix the lower position, lowering the blade completely and installing the lock in the desired position.

To achieve the effect of symmetry, make sure that both sides of the curtain, both in the lowered and raised positions, have the same level of fixation.

Installing roller blinds on a stationary window without using a drill

  • We insert a cross into the mechanism bracket for attaching the roller blinds.
  • We attach the assembled bracket to the roller blind and attach the assembled curtain to the window frame.
  • We mark the places where the brackets are attached to the frame.
  • Be sure to degrease the surfaces to be glued both on the window frame and on the roller blind.
  • Prepare for marking - We install the assembled brackets on the roller blind, mount it on the window for subsequent marking on adhesive tape.
  • We remove the protective film from the double-sided tape and glue it to the grease-free surface of the bracket, and the bracket itself to the marked place on the window frame.
  • At the bottom of the frame, also glue the board for the string tensioner using double-sided tape.
  • Attach the string tensioner to the bottom board.
  • We install fastening mechanisms on the upper brackets.
  • We fasten the guide string in the eye of the upper bracket, cut off the excess length of the string and pass the curtain through the eye of the lower curtain weight.
  • We mount the roller blind into the fastening mechanism
  • We pass the guide string through the eye of the weighting material. We attach the string to the lower tensioners.

Rollo curtains

Fastening directly to the window frame is a quick and convenient way to fix curtains
. For quite a long time, roller blinds have been the undisputed leader in global curtain fashion, due to the fact that, unlike their analogue - blinds, their fastening mechanism allows you to install the screen directly on the window frame, without resorting to drilling and additional fasteners that violate the structure of the frame. Today there is a huge variety of all kinds of roll structures made in various styles, designs and colors. This makes it easy to choose not only a practical and convenient accessory for your window openings, but also a beautiful design element for almost any interior.

Roller blinds do an excellent job of darkening the room

Among the main advantages of this curtain model are the following:

  • The aesthetic appearance of rollo will help in creating a complete interior line in a particular style. Their universal appearance will fit perfectly into almost any style and will become an indispensable decoration for any room, regardless of its functional purpose.
  • They are reliable protection against excessive natural light during the daytime, and also prevent fading and discoloration of the furniture in the room. Such curtains are also an excellent solution for decorating window openings in apartments on the lower floors, as they serve as an excellent “cover” from prying eyes.
  • Thanks to a special protective composition applied to the surface of the roller curtain fabric, such screens are less susceptible to fading than other models. It is also worth noting their high moisture and dirt resistance. Such characteristics significantly increase the service life of these products.
  • The simple and convenient fastening mechanism with which such curtains are equipped makes it easy to install and dismantle the screen yourself, without the help of specialists.
  • The moderate cost of roller blinds with high quality is also their obvious advantage.

First of all, rollo is easy to use and maintain, as well as high strength and reliability of the structure.

Among others, the undeniable advantage of fabric roller blinds is their stylish, sophisticated design

Installation of rollo on frame

Many buyers refuse certain models only because of the complex and lengthy installation process. And this is understandable, because sometimes installing a curtain takes a lot of time and effort, and also creates the possibility of damage to the window frame. However, a characteristic feature of roller blinds is the simplicity of the procedure for installing them on a window. Today there are two most common ways to install roller blinds:

  • Installation without drilling involves installing a cassette box using special adhesive tape, magnets or brackets. This type of installation is perfect for windows that do not require drilling. This type of fastening allows you to easily ventilate the room. However, before purchasing, you should clarify the issue of extending the warranty to this installation method, because the terms of some warranties only cover cases involving the installation of screens using fastenings. This type of installation will allow you to later easily replace your fabric roller blinds with any other model, as it allows you to preserve the original appearance of the window frame.
  • Installation using drilling, which involves fixing the curtain box with self-tapping screws. Provided that all the rules for such installation are followed, the frame is not damaged, and the tips of the screws are hidden under special plugs. When using this type of fastening, the window has a fairly aesthetic and neat appearance.

Regardless of the mounting method you choose, roll sheets are an excellent option for protecting the room. Due to the fact that installation occurs directly on the frame itself, the canvas fits tightly to the glass, saving additional space and creating a feeling of privacy and comfort.

You can easily install your curtains on the window frame yourself
