Happy owners of country houses often encounter the peculiarities of such buildings completely unexpectedly for themselves. This is especially true for the design and furnishings of a new home after renovation or immediately after purchase, if caring for a country house is new to the owners. One of the most significant differences between the house is the presence of an attic - essentially an attic equipped for living quarters.
Attics are very popular. They are usually lighter due to the fact that more windows can be placed on sloping walls or simply expand their area. The double-sided attic can be completely furnished with windows and you can enjoy your unusual home as much as you like. Curtains also help change the level of light in a room where there is a sloping skylight. If you choose them wisely (or even choose blinds), you can adjust the brightness level of light in the room at any time of the day and in any weather conditions.
Curtains for a slanting window
Slanting windows can be decorated with any curtains, the main thing is to choose the right method of fastening and not to overdo the design, so that it is convenient to curtain the window, and to remove and hang textiles.
Let's consider what types of curtains can be used on windows with non-standard geometry and how best to secure them.
Making a swag pattern
For work, prepare a vertical surface and a multiplier cord. You will:
- On the top of the pattern, mark the estimated width of the swag; to do this, mark 3 points – 1,2,3.
- Then divide the distance 1 and 2 into 3 equal parts and mark 2 more points here - 5.6.
- Determine the height h and mark it with point 4.
- Connect 1, 2 and 4 together. Use a special rope for this. Tie a simple pencil to one end and a needle to the other.
- You can start shaping the circle from below. The height, designated 4-4a, is a percentage of the curtain width of 50-80%.
- Connect 5 with 6 to get a straight line 1a-2a, marking the place of the folds.
- Don't forget to allow 2cm of seam allowance.
Classic curtains and tulle
What is the difficulty of decorating windows using traditional tulle and curtains? Firstly, on bevels it is more difficult to lay the fabric in beautiful folds. Secondly, ordinary curtain rods do not fit them - in the inclined part the curtain will slide down.
Therefore, the best option is a curtain rod with Velcro. First, folds are laid on the curtains and only then Velcro is sewn on, so the drapery always remains even. The only negative: you cannot move or open such curtains. They can only be lifted using grabbers.
Often the problem when decorating slanting windows is the hanging of curtains. We are often called separately to provide this service - having disassembled a complex structure for washing, people then cannot put everything back together as neatly and beautifully as it was. With Velcro curtain rods this problem does not arise.
The second option is a round or profile cornice with clamps that hold the rings motionless on the beveled part. You need to remember that if you use such a curtain rod, it will be impossible to move the inclined part of the curtains. Like here.
Another option is to attach tulle and curtains to decorative holders.
These can be wall sockets, hooks, drapery spirals, attached along the textile hanging line. Curtains are sewn onto mounting tape, pulled together, and then hung on holders. But this is also a fixed option.
Sewing options
Roller blinds are a classic when making curtains for the attic. They can be made from a variety of materials and installed at the top of the window opening. In most cases, in order to avoid sagging curtains, they are fixed using additional fasteners at the bottom of the cornice.
This type of curtain is convenient because it is suitable for any style of room. You don’t have to sew them yourself due to a lack of rolls of the desired color and texture, because the developers have tried to take into account all the wishes of customers.
A very common option is when such pleated curtains are combined with regular ones or with tulle. This will help you further regulate the flow of light passing through the glass. With this simple technique you can fill the room with warmth and comfort.
In the event that the window is located directly on the ceiling, it is better for you not to bother purchasing roller blinds, but to immediately buy blinds. They have a fairly dense texture, which provides comfort and coziness at any time of the day. Such curtains are also convenient because in most cases they are sold with a remote control.
Modern designers have come up with many textures for blinds. Today they are made of plastic, wood and even metal. Designers come up with new and new designs on their surface.
For lovers of fabric curtains, there is a separate design option. It is worth noting that this type of curtain can only be used if the windows are located directly on the wall. Otherwise, you will not be able to keep the curtains on the attic windows in the correct position under any circumstances.
Designers recommend holding the curtain with the help of various pendants, tassels and tiebacks. They will not only decorate the design, but will also find practical use.
Try to choose attic curtains based on the angle of the window, the presence of a transom and the size of the structure itself. These are the points that will help create a warm atmosphere in your living space.
Pleated curtains
Pleated curtains are ideal for windows with complex geometry. Corrugated fabric in the form of a “fan” or “accordion” is usually attached to triangular openings. In small corner windows, the curtains are fixed motionless. In large ones, they are fixed on tension strings so that the “accordion” can be lowered/raised.
Varieties
Classic type
With the help of curtains and drapes, you can decorate a triangular window in a variety of ways, without holding back your imagination. Any fabric can be used. The only requirement is that the colors do not violate the chosen color scheme. As a last resort, you can play with contrast. If it is necessary to hang curtains on an inclined cornice, Velcro adhesive tape is most often used. Then, instead of a cornice, a wooden block is used. They work like this:
- take a beam of small cross-section, the length of which coincides with the length of the upper part of the opening;
- attach this beam using self-tapping screws;
- tape is glued over the block;
- Exactly the same piece of tape must be sewn to the curtain or drapery.
In some cases, you can cover with braid the part of the bar that extends beyond the contour of the window. But this remains at the discretion of the owners themselves. In another embodiment, the sticky element is replaced with special hooks. They will have to be fixed on the cornice from the same block in increments of 50-70 mm. The upper edges of the curtains are then secured with loops or rings.
But it also happens that both described options are of little satisfaction to owners or designers. Then you need to use eyelets. A cornice in the form of a bar is incompatible with them; a tubular structure must be used.
The curtains in the described scheme can only be partially opened. Help to open them:
- magnets;
- grabs;
- braid (exactly the same as that attached to the bar).
Blinds
This decorative element is a little less common than curtains. If the opening is very wide, vertical fabric blinds are mainly used. But a small window should be decorated with horizontal PVC structures. But a common feature is the precise consideration of the geometry and area of the window. Since installation is extremely complicated, it is recommended to entrust it to professionals.
The cost of blinds is higher than that of classic curtains. However, the investment is completely justified, because such jewelry lasts longer and is much more convenient to use. For windows that have one bevel, vertical blinds are most often placed on the ceiling. But for windows with a couple of bevels, it is recommended to install blinds over the opening. If we are talking about a horizontal element, then it must be mounted directly on the sashes to ensure their autonomous use.
Pleated
This name hides a relatively new, but already very popular, subtype of blinds. The advantage of such structures is the ability to install them on openings of various shapes. The curtain is formed by 2-3 aluminum profiles, the gaps of the profiles are filled with fabric. When the blinds are raised or lowered, the fabric folds into even strips. The width of these stripes is 2.5-5 cm, in general the composition is similar to an accordion.
Manufacturers treat fabrics with special reagents. Thanks to them, even after several dozen washes, the shape and color are preserved in their original form. Another strong point of pleated windows is their installation on sashes, meaning there are no problems using any parts of the windows. The appearance is laconic: the latest blinds occupy a minimal part of the space
With their help, it is possible to clearly focus attention on the geometry of the opening
When choosing between these designs, you should consider the specific advantages of each option:
- traditional curtains open up extraordinary scope for design delights;
- Vertical blinds help to expand the window visually;
- With the help of pleated blinds and horizontally directed blinds, windows with multiple sashes can be fully used.
To learn how to install pleated windows on a triangular window, see the following video.
Vertical blinds
Another functional design option is vertical blinds (there are special inclined blocks for such windows). As in the case of curtains, in the beveled part they cannot be moved apart, but the slats can be rotated around their axis. This is convenient because it allows you to regulate the amount of light.
Vertical blinds will look good in laconic interiors in a modern style, for example minimalism, hi-tech. They are not suitable for a classic style or a country wooden house. Textiles are needed here.
Advantages of blinds for roof windows
Blinds for beveled windows of standard sizes are no different from standard ones in terms of installation complexity or final functionality. The same technologies are used - you won’t even notice any difference, except for the appearance, of course. The only disadvantage of blinds is the lack of ability to decorate them - models are produced in several colors, but special orders for your own decor are almost impossible. There are many more advantages:
- Ease of use. Blinds were originally invented as an alternative to curtains due to the difficulty of caring for them. Curtains must be removed for washing and hung back, otherwise the room with them will inevitably turn into a dust collector.
- Regulation of incoming light. Most blinds are designed so that the owner can almost completely block out the light from the street at any time thanks to the dense shutters.
- Part of a special interior. Blinds look very good in minimalist and futuristic interiors, where any curtains would look out of place. If you want to decorate your attic in one of these styles, then blinds are your choice.
Blinds for windows with a sloping top are very popular, because the transmission of light on uneven surfaces is much higher due to the large angles of inclination. If you do not take care of regulating the lighting in advance, then meeting sunrises and sunsets in such a room will be, to put it mildly, inconvenient.
Roman curtains
It is not always possible to adapt Roman blinds to a slanted window. If the opening is small and it is possible to fix the cornice parallel to the floor, you can hang an ordinary rectangular curtain - the bevel will “hide” behind it.
The second option is to cut the bias curtain. But in this case, it can only be raised in the rectangular part of the window, and the triangle at the top will remain motionless.
As you can see, you can solve any problem and adapt almost all types of curtains to the configuration of an oblique window opening. But when imagining and coming up with a complex design, do not forget about the convenience and functionality of the window.
Choice of colors
In order for the interior composition to look truly complete, you need to be able to select not only the stylistic design, but also the color, as well as the type of textile. It is these solutions that together will complete the interior ensembles. There are no special rules in choosing color combinations for curtains
However, it is worth considering that curtains are such an attention-grabbing thing on which the entire decor will depend
A classic design technique is to select curtains to match the color of the furniture. In this case, both related and contrasting combinations are appropriate. Considering that the color of the furniture is natural, woody, curtains in beige, coffee-milk and other calm shades would be appropriate.
Plain curtains are good not only for apartment compositions, but also for office decoration. Plain textiles go well with the color of large furniture pieces. For example, a lot for curtains could be a bed or a sofa. Experts use design tricks that allow you to hide imperfections with curtains. The first assistants in this matter are unusual prints, checks, and contrasting stripes. The simplest solution is to use two colors in the interior. To help beginners, a black and white combination. A monochrome interior will in any case turn out to be elegant and sophisticated, especially if it is not replete with small details and creativity. It is better to decorate the interior strictly, but with taste.
Combinations of warm and cool tones can also be the best choice for those who know little about space design. According to the canons of visual perception, warm tones will visually make the room smaller, and cold colors will make the room larger. For example, if you choose white curtains, they will visually enlarge the room, add freshness, airiness and cleanliness. White can also be diluted well with delicate pastel shades.
Yellow curtains will warm you and illuminate you with emotions. Sunny color is good in combination with green, purple, gray
You should be careful when choosing red curtains. Visually, red design will be aggressive and tasteless
In combinations with red, related shades are acceptable, for example, brown.
We bring to your attention several successful examples of the correct combinations of various shades in interior compositions.

Curtains for sloping windows
Often rooms located under the roof itself have a broken ceiling line and, as a result, a sloping window shape. Curtains for sloping windows have their own characteristics.
When creating such a window you need to:
- Take dimensions for the high and low parts of the window, linear dimensions of the slope and base
- Correctly calculate the assembly factor
- To drape curtains, use a hand fold
- Use curtain rods with stoppers or other fixing elements so that the curtain does not slide down
If all these conditions are met, then your curtains will look perfect on the window.
For sloping windows, different types of lifting curtains are also suitable. To do this, it is necessary to use curtain rod systems that can function in an inclined state. The curtains on the inclined part of the window are decorative in nature, since they are motionless.
How to sew curtains with your own hands
Fabric calculation and pattern, detailed instructions, photos;
Before sewing curtains, you need to decide on the length. There are three classic lengths in total.
- To the windowsill.
The lower edge of the product does not reach the window sill by 1-1.5 cm. This allows you to move the tulle unhindered.
- Below the windowsill.
A curtain whose lower edge extends 10 cm below the window sill will look optimal and harmonious.
- To the floor.
The edge of the curtains should be at a distance of 1 -1.5 cm from the floor.
When the length of the future product is known, it is necessary to measure the window.
To determine the exact length of future curtains and drapes, a cornice must be installed.
Measuring width and length.
- Measure the length of the cornice and multiply the resulting figure by two. Add 10 cm to the resulting number on both sides to finish the edge. Example: the length of the cornice is 150 cm. (150×2) +20 = 3.20 cm – the width of the fabric for the product.
- To obtain the length, the measurement must begin from the beginning of the loop, hook or base of the ring to the expected length of the product.
Be sure to take into account the folds at the top and bottom.
The complete image of a curtain can consist of: a lambrequin (swag, bandeau, crossover), individual elements that are combined with it (frill, tie, mold, bell).
The calculation of fabric for a lambrequin depends on the number of expected swags and the length of the cornice. Swags that overlap the shuttlecocks by 1/3 will have a harmonious appearance. To calculate the amount of fabric in this case, you need to divide the length of the cornice by five, and multiply the resulting number by three. So, you can calculate the required length of one element.
Swag pattern, detailed instructions.
Swag is the most traditional model of a soft lambrequin - a strip of fabric covering the cornice.
- Mark the width of the swag from the very top of the pattern and mark it with the letters A and B. Mark the middle between them - C.
- Divide the distance between points A and B into three equal parts: label them E, F.
- From the center point C, set aside the length of the swag and mark it with point D.
- We get a semicircle by connecting points A, B, D
- From point D we retreat down to point D1, approximately half the width of the product.
- From point D1 we draw an arc on the left and right sides, indicating points A1 and B
- We connect points E, F and A1 and B1, indicating the assembly line.
- Round the corners at points E, F.
- When cutting, leave an allowance of 2 cm.
Swag is a lambrequin element, a popular detail in curtains.
Austrian curtain pattern.
- The rectangle is divided into three stripes. The width of the rectangle is equal to the size of the cornice plus additional centimeters for allowances.
- A special braid is sewn along the attached strips.
- The curtain tape is carefully tightened and fixed at the desired tension of the fabric.
It is important to remember that Austrian curtains are traditionally “gathered” to the center of the canvas.
For an ordinary classic curtain, a pattern is not needed. The fabric is cut according to size.
How to sew curtains correctly, a guide.
- Steam the material so that it does not distort during operation. Lay out the canvas; if there is a print on it and there are two curtains, you need to match the pattern.
- Mark the length and width of the product, mark the allowances.
- Process the side and bottom seams. The color of the thread is matched to the tone of the fabric. The side seams are processed with an allowance of 1 cm - 1.5 cm, and the bottom seam is up to 10 cm. The bottom seam can be weighted using doublerin.
- A ribbon is sewn at the top of the product, with which you can hang the finished product.
Austrian curtains are usually made from lightweight curtain fabrics.
Curtains for arched and lancet windows
The most common window shape in early building construction was the arch. So, it was this that made it possible to correctly distribute the load and create a strong stone vault. This construction and architectural technique is still used today, but more often to achieve a decorative effect, so when textile decoration we try to emphasize and preserve the main line of the window.
For classic interiors, an arched window can be decorated with a lambrequin and curtains.
For interiors of more modern styles - Roman blinds or drapes.
Unfortunately, the curtains on such windows are immovable, but a roll-up curtain can be a more functional solution. To design arched and lancet windows you need:
- Accurately and accurately measure the arched vault
- Form an understanding of how and where exactly the curtain will be placed
- Create an accurate layout for sewing curtains and lambrequins
- Choose the right curtain rod system
If you manage to follow all these rules, then the curtains on the arched window will become an ideal decoration in the house.
Cornices for triangular windows
The question of how to arrange a cornice for a non-standard triangular window, with its unusualness, can baffle even an experienced home DIYer. There is only one way out - go to study on the Internet. The world's leading manufacturers of roof windows: Roto, Velux and FAKRO have resolved this issue a long time ago. Therefore, they offer such curtain rods to their customers as an option.
They should be purchased at the same time as ordering the non-standard windows themselves, so that they fit exactly in size and do not require a second call to the measurer. But if you have not done this in a timely manner, you can always make an additional order from the company that installed your roof windows, and most likely, your request will be fulfilled.
But if you have neither the desire, nor the time, nor the money to buy branded cornices for a triangular window, you can find a way out and make it yourself, from available material.
Triangular windows do not necessarily mean non-standard triangular-shaped cornices. You can install an ordinary straight (horizontal) cornice on the wall. In this case, the curtains will level out the irregular shape of the window and be fully functional, unlike most curtains that follow the shape of the window and require either special technical solutions or additional (sometimes very inconvenient in everyday use) hooks, rings, ties to close and open them. and other devices that hold curtains in the desired position.
If you nevertheless decide to emphasize the shape of the window and you are not afraid that none of the known designs of cornices for triangular curtains allow you to completely, 100%, open the draped window, then in this case the simplest and cheapest way would be to install two running ones above the window parallel to the legs of the window are wooden or aluminum slats on which Velcro tape will be attached, used as fasteners on clothes and shoes. The second half of the Velcro tape is sewn to the top edge of the curtains themselves, and they fit perfectly along the contour of your triangular window.
There is only one drawback: it will be impossible to open such curtains without securing them open with ties or hooks.
Another way out of the situation, more “noble” and decorative, would be to hang curtains on grommets - this is the name of the rings on which curtains are attached using clips.
A typical example of the use of eyelets is waterproof curtains in the bathroom, which slide along a telescopic rod using these same eyelets. There can be two options: using curtain rods on which eyelet rings are placed - it is suitable for smooth curtains that do not involve numerous folds. The upper eyelets of each half of the curtains are tightly fixed in the upper corner of the window and keep the curtains on the rings from sliding along the eaves. Or on hooks evenly distributed along the legs of a triangular window and on which eyelets are hung.
In both cases, fixing devices will also be required to open the window. Thanks to the large selection of accessories that can be found in furniture stores or stores selling tailoring jewelry, you can choose the size, shape and texture of the eyelets that is in harmony with your interior and the texture of the curtains.
What curtains are suitable for roof windows?
A window located on the sloping part of the roof is called a dormer window. Very often, such windows are the only source of daylight in the room. Depending on the specific location and size, you can use different ways to design such windows.
If the window is located further away from the walls of the room, then it is better to regulate the access of light using various built-in systems:
- Blinds
- Pleated
- Shutters
- Tension curtains
If the window is located directly against the wall, then in addition to the above systems, you can use curtains and tulle, fixing them with an additional cornice at the bend. These curtains can be sewn stretched or slouched. You can choose both thick and lightweight fabrics.
Where can I get suitable window textiles?
Perhaps we will upset fans of budget options a little - so that it’s cheap and cheerful. In the case of such non-standard window openings, this option is practically excluded. Because it is impossible to purchase ready-made curtains for triangular windows: you must take into account the specific parameters of these same windows.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=L97xV22H0b0
Therefore, there are two options: order curtains from special studios that sew window kits (this can be quite expensive, but will ensure professional quality work), or sew them yourself if you have sufficient sewing skills. Although, a budget option is also possible: it is suitable if you decide not to emphasize the unusual shape of the window, but to disguise it. Then it’s enough to purchase a classic set of curtains and drapes, hang them from above on a regular straight cornice, choosing a combination of colors and textures that suits the design of the room. To completely hide the top, add a beautiful lambrequin to this set. You can also choose a Roman model: it will allow you to adjust the lighting and hide the angularity of the structure.
In this way, you can cover the shape of a triangular window by using double roller blinds and lightly draping them
However, most often the owners want to focus specifically on the originality of the shape of the window opening.
Stylistic nuance
Quite often, residential buildings with similar window openings are built from wood, which leaves its mark on their decoration with textiles. The natural texture of wood is best emphasized by tulle “like grandma’s” - remember, this is how our grandmothers curtained their windows, which created a special rustic flavor. At the same time, naturally, the overall style of the room should obey this idea.

What models are suitable for a triangular opening?
If you want to emphasize its unusual shape, then the classic version “does not fit here.” We are looking for others.
- Vertical blinds for triangular windows, and especially for sloping ones, are suitable for minimalist interiors;
Vertical blinds with perforation for a high sloping triangular window
A rather expensive, but very effective model for such cases is pleated; On a triangular window, pleated blinds can be hung radially, from the center, creating the intention of a solar symbol in the interior
The classic option here is only possible with the obligatory use of tiebacks that allow you to open and secure the curtains. At the same time, lambrequins, ruffles, fringe and other decorations are not prohibited, but should be used minimally so as not to unnecessarily distract attention from the window itself and not to overload the interior with accents.

Mounting features
So, you already understand that standard curtain rods are only suitable in one case: if you decide to hide the shape of the window. In other cases, you will have to fasten two cornices at an angle.
- If you want to hang a straight panel, without assembly, such a laconic window decoration can be attached using eyelets, securing the first rings on each side in the upper corner. Then the entire canvas will not slide down the slope;
Curtains with lambrequin for a corner triangular window
A similar method, but without cornices at all, is to fasten special metal point holders for eyelets in the wall along the line of the window opening at an equal distance and hang the canvas on them. In this case, the eyelets can be replaced with fabric loops or ties, if they fit into the interior.
Curtains with tulle for a triangular window with doors
That same curtain at an angle, as well as the sliding curtains on the assembly, will have to be attached with Velcro tape, otherwise the drapery will not hold. In this case, instead of cornices, you will have to use wooden beams that are screwed to the wall. One side of the tape is attached to the bars, the other, soft, to the textile. A bold solution is to use ordinary straight cornices, which are fixed horizontally, but at different levels, following the bevel lines. Then there will be several curtain panels at once.
Hinged model for corner (triangular) window
For cases when it is necessary to prevent the penetration of light into the room as little as possible, the curtains are sewn quite laconic, and are pulled apart from the sides and secured with tiebacks, or thrown over special hooks or brackets.
Simple tulle on a triangular window
The brackets themselves can completely replace the cornice. Having secured them at the top and sides, the textiles are hung in the form of overhangs.
Curtains for bay window
The bay window has become a very popular architectural solution for windows in modern construction. This is a type of panoramic window or group of windows on a part of the wall protruding from the room. Bay windows can also be angular or semicircular. When creating textile decoration for such windows, it is necessary to take into account a number of points:
- Decide on a curtain rod system
- Create a niche in the ceiling to place the cornice
- Correctly determine the angle of rotation of the bay window or its radius of curvature
- Determine the number and size of curtains on the window
- Calculate the size of the lambrequin line, if provided
When choosing a decorative cornice with rings, it is necessary to correctly calculate the location of the brackets so that they do not interfere with the movement of the curtains.

Eyelets on curtains
This is a reliable, practical way to attach curtains to frames of non-standard configuration. There are several types of eyelet curtains on sale, which vary in shape. Can be oval, triangular, square. And according to the type of design, they can be matte, glossy, transparent, with rhinestones, multi-colored, plain, imitating metal, wood.
We sew ourselves
The best solution for decorating windows with a triangular configuration is to sew curtains yourself. First, you need to determine exactly what color and texture the material for sewing curtains should be. Next, you should measure the windows and select the appropriate cornice
It is important to know that the cut of curtains depends on the type of curtain rod. It can be wall or ceiling
For those who have not decided on the appearance of curtains for triangular windows, we suggest viewing a selection of photos.
In order for hand-sewn curtains to decorate the interior design of a room, it is recommended to carefully study the pattern and select exactly all the details. In order for the finished product to look perfect, it is recommended to purchase fabric for curtains with a reserve. If the material shrinks after washing, the curtains will not look awkward on the window opening.
After the fabric is cut, we begin sewing the product. Initially, small parts are sewn on using a basting stitch, then ironed and sewn on by machine. After the small parts are sewn, we begin to assemble the different parts of the fabric into the finished product. At the end of the work, the curtain is ironed.
Thus, today there are many ways to decorate triangular windows in an original way. One of the options is the possibility of ordering curtains to be sewn by professionals, or you can show your imagination and sew the curtains yourself. In the first case, the window will receive a beautiful, professional design, and in the second, an original design solution that the owner will be proud to present to guests.
Curtains for panoramic windows
The design concept of curtains for a panoramic window depends on a number of factors:
- Degrees of dimming in the room
- Interior style solution
- Purpose of the room
The most convenient for such windows are electrically controlled curtain rods. It is not always convenient to close voluminous curtains manually, and mechanical control systems are better used for lifting curtains.
The specialists of the Respect-décor studio will help you take into account all the features and nuances in the design of panoramic windows.
Sewing curtains with your own hands
The production of curtains is made exclusively from dense fabric that does not transmit light. The allowance for a dense type of fabric should be left at least 4 cm, otherwise the edges may turn unsightly in the opposite direction.
The final option on how to sew curtains depends only on your imagination, and after reading this material, you will be inspired to work.
A step-by-step tutorial on how to easily sew curtains yourself.
- Find the wrong side of the fabric and lay it on top. We process the side seams: first we turn in 2 cm, then another 2 cm. On one and the other side there should be a fold of 8 cm.
- We bend the bottom edge twice, 5 cm each. There should be a total of 10 cm for laying the bottom seam.
- Iron the folded edges and start machine stitching, departing 0.1 cm from the edge.
- The ribbon is sewn right side up. We lay the product with the front side up, put a ribbon under it on one edge and wrap the top edge of the fabric by 1.5 cm.
- Sew the tape, retreating 0.1 cm from the edge. We start the line to the end of the product and fold the second edge of the tape under the fabric in the same way.
- Turn the fabric with the ribbon over to the wrong side, slightly lifting the edge up by 2 cm. We start the second line at a distance of 2 mm from the top. The edge of the tape should not be allowed to peek out from the front side.
- The third line is sewn 0.7 cm from the edge of the tape.
- Carefully remove the laces from under the allowance.
- Next, we sew three more lines at the same distance along the tape.
- Using laces, we tighten the ribbon, forming beautiful folds on the front side.
Sewing curtains with your own hands, with step-by-step instructions, is not as difficult as it seems at first glance.
