WDS profile: characteristics and properties

The VDS profile for the assembly of metal-plastic windows and door blocks is produced in Ukraine. The thickness of the external walls of WDS systems corresponds to “B” class and is 2.7 mm. This is quite enough for products made from profiles to withstand operational loads. To increase impact strength, the manufacturer uses modifiers that make the plastic impact resistant. Thanks to this approach, the VDS window profile of different series is of good quality and is available to a wide consumer audience. WDS systems are manufactured in compliance with two regulations at once - Russian GOST and Ukrainian UkrSEPRO. To improve the statics of structures assembled from these profile systems, closed reinforcement is used. The wall thickness of the steel profiles is at least 1.2 mm, which allows window and door units to withstand external loads and temperature fluctuations without problems.

Thanks to the presence of the listed elements, VDS profiles are suitable for the assembly of entrance lobbies, winter gardens, glazing of balconies and loggias and the manufacture of bay windows. To protect structures from blowing and ingress of moisture and dust from the street, the manufacturer completes the systems with 2 or 3 sealing circuits made of TPE-V sealant in gray, black and beige colors. This is a high quality plastic elastomer that retains its properties in the temperature range from -30°C to +100°C. Thanks to the excellent weldability of the material, a permanent seal is ensured in the problem area of ​​corner joints. The durability of TPE-V is comparable to the service life of the plastic windows themselves.

In addition to basic white PVC profiles, the manufacturer offers systems painted in beige or gray. It is also possible to laminate the plastic surface with 37 types of wood-like or plain films. This decorative coating is applied to two or one side of plastic profiles. Lamination films have a special reflective coating that protects them from overheating. Thanks to this, dark windows maintain a stable shape even in the summer heat. The decorative coating does not wrinkle on the doors and frames and does not peel off from the plastic base.

To complete windows of this brand, it is recommended to use branded window sills. WDS produces these products with matte and glossy surfaces. Currently, window sills are available in 8 decors, which combine well with laminated and plain profiles.

What does a plastic window consist of?

Modern multifunctional windows - plastic, wood or aluminum - are systems with a complex structure. Standard PVC construction includes:

• Frame - a frame designed for installation and fixation in a window opening. The frame is made from PVC profile reinforced with metal reinforcements (galvanized steel profile).
• Doors - they are included in the design when it is necessary to ensure opening (at the same time, the cost increases due to the increase in complexity and consumption of materials). Like frame parts, they are made from window profiles.
• Infill - double-glazed windows - is installed in the blind parts of the frame and in the window sashes. An alternative to traditional glazing is the installation of opaque window sandwich panels with high thermal insulation ability.
• The fittings (a set of mechanisms around the perimeter of the window, which is driven by a handle) are responsible for the movement of the window sashes, their opening and closing.

In addition to the main elements, the window design also includes additional ones - window sills, mosquito nets, drainage strips.

Profile WDS 300

It is advisable to use this basic 3-chamber economy class profile for assembling structures that will subsequently be installed in unheated rooms. It should be taken into account that the WDS 300 system with an installation depth of 60 mm was developed in Ukraine, where the climate is much milder. In Russia, it can only be used in the south for glazing of offices, shops, municipal facilities and residential premises. Moreover, the limited thickness of double-glazed windows will not allow for a high level of sound insulation, so in noisy areas it is better not to install WDS 300 windows at all.

Profile WDS 400

The four-chamber WDS 400 system is compatible with burglar-resistant fittings. It can be used when assembling windows for heated premises in the central and western regions of the Russian Federation. Although its installation depth is 60 mm, it has one more internal chamber than the WDS 300. Due to this, the energy efficiency of the 400 series profiles is slightly higher. However, when installing WDS 400 windows, you need to be prepared for high heat losses, since old standards were used when developing this system. Today, the requirements for metal-plastic structures are much stricter. To reduce heat loss, when ordering windows from profiles of this system, it is recommended to equip them with energy-efficient double-glazed windows.

WDS 5S profile

The WDS 5S system also has an installation depth of 60 mm, but it is noticeably warmer than the profiles of the 300 and 400 series.
The fifth chamber added by the manufacturers has improved the thermal characteristics of 5S windows, which can be safely used in moderate climatic conditions. These profile designs are compatible with reinforced burglary-resistant fittings and can be equipped with 2 or 3-chamber double-glazed windows. 5S series systems, like all other WDS profiles, are compatible with additional elements that allow you to assemble blocks of complex shapes. WDS 5S is the warmest economy class system with an installation depth of 60mm. The presence of 5 chambers not only increased its energy efficiency, but also increased rigidity. WDS 6S profile

The 6S system is part of the WDS standard-class profile line. It has 6 chambers and an installation depth of 70 mm. Series 6 profiles are suitable for assembling windows intended for use in all regions of Russia with the exception of northern regions with harsh climatic conditions. Six chambers and 40mm double-glazed windows perfectly retain heat even in severe frosts. The structures assembled from WDS 6S systems have increased light transmittance and an original design. These qualities are ensured by the reduced frame height and beveled edges on the internal edges of the light openings.

WDS 7S profile

The WDS 7S system has the same installation depth and number of internal chambers with the 6 series profiles.
However, windows assembled from it are warmer. Higher energy efficiency of the structures is ensured by the individual feature of this system, which lies in the thoughtful arrangement of the chambers - 3 cavities are located in the facade plane. This configuration reduces the risk of windows freezing and helps to better retain heat indoors. That is, heat transfer in windows slows down in two directions.
