The Weiss company from Germany produces a line of reliable Cosmofen adhesives. Cosmofen glue stably bonds parts to different planes. The product is used for indoor and outdoor work. Since it is used to glue parts of household appliances, repair toys, and plastic products, the glue has found wide household use.
Glue Features
Cosmofen glue has a wide range of uses. It is produced in a special package with a dispenser cap, with which you can apply the adhesive mixture to the surfaces to be glued as economically as possible. Such a dispenser cap allows you to dose Cosmofen glue with high precision.
Important! After using the adhesive composition, you must close the cap tightly so that the mixture does not dry out until the next use.
Cosmofen glue is also sold in large packages, because it is often used by professionals when carrying out various construction, repair, installation, reconstruction work, as well as in the production sector for the manufacture of various products and parts.
It is recommended to store Cosmofen glue in a dark place at room temperature, out of direct sunlight. It is strongly recommended that this adhesive be kept away from children and prevented from being found by them. The mixture is quite toxic, so if it comes into contact with the skin, it can cause a severe chemical burn. In such situations, you should immediately contact medical institutions.
Universal
Universal polymer adhesive is available in two packages, usually sold in a tube or bucket
Pay attention to the specifics of the work that needs to be done. There is a universal composition that will perfectly glue tiles and linoleum, but leather will be too tough for it
Today, polymer glue does not contain toxic substances, but precautions should be taken. If glue gets on the skin or mucous areas, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
As a rule, polymer-based glue is frost- and water-resistant, and it does not collapse when bent.
When using glue for polymer clay, the surfaces must be degreased, apply the mixture in a thin layer, then press the parts to be glued. And wait for ten to fifteen minutes, this is the optimal period of time for all types of adhesive mixtures, although it is better to wait for several hours.
In our dynamic times, there are a huge variety of types of such glue. Many of them are produced by domestic chemical concerns, while others come from leading foreign manufacturers. Both of them undergo strict selection for quality. Today you can purchase polymer glue in any store or on the Internet.
Let's sum it up
At present, we can say with confidence that the most optimal adhesive element will be a universal polymer adhesive. Because it is capable of gluing a wide variety of materials. Another advantage is that it is non-toxic, which allows it to be used in the home.
Advantages and disadvantages
The product is presented in the form of a one-component composition. Cosmofen glue is produced using cyanoacrylate. Due to this substance, any ordinary composition turns into superglue - it dries instantly and sets immediately, which is why, due to inexperience, many consumers glue their fingers.
The main advantages of Cosmofen glue include:
- Increased strength of the resulting seam.
- The mixture is completely ready for use, sold in packages of different sizes (from small tubes with a volume of 20 ml to large packages intended for industrial use).
- Ease of use (the surfaces to be glued need to be pressed against each other for 10-15 seconds).
- Providing instant and high-quality bonding of surfaces.
The main disadvantage of Cosmofen adhesive compositions is the low resistance of the finished frozen seam to high temperatures (more than 80 ° C). At this temperature, the frozen seam will begin to soften.
The disadvantages also include the fact that Cosmofen glue is quite expensive when compared with domestic analogues. For example, for a small 20 ml tube you will have to pay about 150-200 rubles, while the cost of similar Russian products does not exceed 100 rubles. At the same time, in terms of basic technical and performance characteristics, Cosmofen is significantly ahead of its closest competitors.
Important! The instructions for using Cosmofen glue say that it is not recommended to use it for gluing products that will be used in high-temperature conditions or in contact with hot parts.
Also, ethyl cyanocrylate is added to the Cosmofen glue, which makes the glue toxic. Therefore, work must be carried out in a well-ventilated area.
Manufacturer
Superglue Cosmofen from the German company Weiss. In Russia it is produced under the Resolen brand. It is used in the same industries as Cosmofen.
Resolen is resistant to alkalis, acids, petroleum products, sea water, and other aggressive environments. The composition can be used at temperatures from -60 to +280°C, it has high abrasive resistance and elasticity. Threshold operating temperature +320°C. Resolen is available in 50 ml packs. Rtline glue is also available. Areas of application similar to Cosmofen.
Area of use
Cosmofen glue has a wide range of applications, high performance properties and technical characteristics in accordance with the manufacturer’s description.
The following areas can be identified where the Cosmofen adhesive composition can be used without restrictions:
- Bonding polymer and plastic materials of various types (polyvinyl chloride, polypropylene, etc.).
- Bonding of sealing profile elements when installing plastic window systems.
- Carrying out various plumbing works (with the exception of pipes and elements in contact with hot water supply).
- Manufacturing of plastic toys, production of jewelry.
- Sailing modeling.
- Assembly of electrical and radio-electronic products and parts.
- Manufacturing of optical equipment and devices.
- Carrying out any work on gluing glass, rubber, metal products.
- Manufacturing/repair of orthopedic and dental equipment.
- Installation of suspended ceilings (Cosmofen glue is used in this case in large quantities).
- Connecting wooden products, chipboard, fiberboard and other boards made of light wood fiber.
- Bonding of silicone products, thermoplastic elastomers (only when mixed with primers).
Important! You cannot use Cosmofen glue for gluing porous plastic materials, because the composition is absorbed by the pores, which is why the strength of the connection cannot be ensured.
Using Cosmofen glue you can quickly seal cuts on a stretch ceiling. Moreover, it does not matter what material the stretch ceiling is made of.
Analogs
The following products are used as analogues of Cosmofen glue:
- Rezolen;
- Rtline.
A line of epoxy adhesives used to work with:
- metal;
- ceramics;
- glass;
- tree;
- polymers.
Rtline
Adhesive for industrial and household needs. It has good adhesiveness and hardens quickly. The disadvantage is low viscosity.
Below are reviews from consumers who have been using Cosmofen products for several years.
“I use Cosmofen glue at home and in the country. I use it to glue the necessary parts together, doing it quickly and reliably. Good value for money."
Vasily Petrovich. 49 years old. Bryansk city.
“I bought Cosmofen glue by accident, when the usual Moment was not in the store. Since then I have never regretted the purchase, and I have been using the products of this company for many years. What I like about the glue is its versatility and reliability.”
Main technical characteristics
Cosmofen glue glues various homogeneous and dissimilar materials together, despite the fact that the composition is one-component.
The most important performance and performance characteristics of the product include:
- Mixture density: 0.99 g/cm3 or more (depending on the type of adhesive mixture).
- The shade of the seam after the crystallization period: white, transparent (also depends on what kind of Cosmofen glue the materials were glued with).
- Time for complete hardening and set of performance characteristics: about 18-22 hours.
- Viscosity level: medium (the mixture is quite liquid when compared with analogues).
- Application temperature: more than +5o C.
- Recommended humidity level: no more than 60-65%.
- Setting of the mixture after application: within 120-180 seconds.
Important! Regardless of the type, Cosmofen super glue hardens very quickly due to the presence of cyanoacrylate in the composition. Therefore, the work must be carried out as quickly as possible - it is unlikely that it will be possible to correct the position of the connected parts.
Recommendations
To ensure high-quality gluing, you can use the recommendations of specialists:
- at a temperature not lower than 20 degrees Celsius and a humidity of 60%, the glue will harden much faster;
- the aluminum surface is treated with special means before gluing, otherwise the connection will not be strong;
- Do not use the composition for products with a porous surface;
- Cosmofen is ideal for gluing small parts;
- Children and animals should not be in the room during work.
Cosmofen glue is suitable for gluing many types of materials. If we compare it with analogues, then judging by consumer reviews, Krox glue is an excellent substitute; it is also used in installation work. Good reviews are also given about the composition of Done Deal; this product is very convenient to use. It has a needle in the lid that prevents the substance from drying out, so the tube is used many times. In addition to these brands, users highlight the “Contact” glue, as well as the “Super Strength” product, which is sold together with the cleaner.
You can see testing of Cosmofen glue in the video below.
Types of glue
The German manufacturer sells several varieties of Cosmofen glue on the Russian market, the most popular of which are:
- Glue "Cosmofen" for PVC products. In terms of performance characteristics, the product is similar to popular sealants. It is used when processing gaps in window blocks. The applied hardened mixture will not fade in the sun, peel off, or change color during use. Suitable for repairing fittings, plastic parts, plumbing equipment, fittings, pipes, etc.
- Glue "Cosmofen" CA 12. Practical and easy-to-use universal adhesive composition. Suitable for performing household work on gluing different types of materials.
- Cosmo - 500.200 (second cyanoacrylate). Has instant hold. Suitable for working with any popular materials. After application, durable, moisture-resistant seams are obtained that are not afraid of temperature changes and aggressive chemicals.
Important! Additionally, you can purchase the cyanoacrylate glue activator “Cosmofen” AC-12. This product is produced in the form of a spray. Its main purpose is to improve the performance characteristics of any type of adhesive composition that is made on the basis of cyanoacrylate.
Where is it used?
Many people ask the question: what is glued with Cosmofen? According to the manufacturer’s assurances and consumer reviews, Cosmofen glue is used to treat:
- plastic products;
- plumbing;
- optics;
- costume jewelry;
- glass;
- metal;
- used in modeling;
- work with wood, PVC and polypropylene.
Plastic
Plastic products, in most cases, require careful connection that does not require drilling or other similar operations. Cosmofen glue, due to its resistance to external influences, is used for bonding:
- plastic windows;
- polymer pipes;
- kitchen utensils;
- shower accessories;
- other interior elements.
Note! It is not recommended to use Cosmofen to glue plastic utensils, spoons and forks in places of direct contact with food.
Plumbing
Cosmofen Plus has a high viscosity and is suitable for connecting rigid structural elements. It is used in various spheres of life, including for plumbing work.
Bijouterie
If used carefully, it is possible to glue individual pieces of jewelry together. Cosmofen, accidentally applied to an unplanned surface, is extremely difficult to clean off. Otherwise, there should be no problems with application.
Modeling
Modeling is a hobby common in many countries, the essence of which is collecting miniature models of buildings and equipment. Good glue is the first assistant in this matter. The main requirement for the product is the speed of hardening. Cosmofen CA12 is perfect for these purposes. The hardening speed is from 4 to 20 seconds, which allows you to quickly and reliably fix the part in the right place.
Radioelectronics
Radio electronics refers to the process of creating devices for receiving or transmitting information over a distance. The main quality criteria for glue are:
- fixing the part;
- reliable sealing at the joint;
Cosmofen glue copes with both tasks efficiently, for which it is highly valued among professionals.
Optics
Requirements for glue for bonding lenses:
- lack of color and transparency;
- optical homogeneity;
- connecting parts without the formation of air bubbles;
- connection strength;
- high elasticity rates.
Some types of Cosmofen glue have all of the above qualities, allowing you to work with optical instruments.
Glass, rubber, metal
The universal formula of Cosmofen CA12 glue allows you to equally reliably glue products made of leather, metal and even rubber. Resistant to high humidity and sudden temperature changes. The product does not contain solvents that can negatively affect the structure of the bonded material.
Medicine
The characteristics of Cosmofen glue are so good that this product is even used in medicine. Used in making:
- dental equipment;
- orthopedic equipment.
Stretch ceiling
Modern citizens increasingly prefer to use suspended ceilings. Such designs are easy to install, look presentable and cost a reasonable amount. When installing suspended ceilings, glue is used as a fixative. Due to properties such as bond strength, high hardening speed and versatility, Cosmofen is recommended for use by the vast majority of suspended ceiling manufacturers.
Tree
Wooden products and other structural elements made from this material can be glued together without problems with Cosmofen. The seam at the junction is almost invisible, but durable.
PVC parts
It is convenient to glue PVC parts with Weiss Chemie products due to the following characteristics:
- painting: transparent glue and white glue available;
- quick setting after application. Four minutes is enough for the parts to be firmly connected to each other;
- complete hardening of the substance occurs after 24 hours from the moment of application;
- high density of matter.
Polypropylene
Polypropylene, due to its chemical composition, is difficult to glue. Even Cosmofen is not particularly suitable for these purposes, but still copes with this role better than other competitors. May be used in case of urgent need.
How to use glue?
Before starting work on gluing products or parts, it is necessary to clean the surfaces to be joined as thoroughly as possible. Any dirt, grease and oil stains, remnants of old adhesive mixtures, etc. must be removed from them. If Cosmofen glue is used for gluing metal surfaces, then it is necessary to pre-treat them with a solvent.
After preparing the surface, work is carried out in the following sequence:
- An adhesive mixture must be applied to one of the surfaces to be glued.
- The composition is applied using a dispenser cap.
- After application, you must immediately press and hold the surfaces to be bonded firmly.
- You need to hold it for about 10-20 seconds.
Important! If the parts were initially connected incorrectly, then it will no longer be possible to correct their position 10 seconds after connection.
Cosmofen glue finally hardens and gains the required performance characteristics in approximately 8-16 hours. To speed up the hardening process of the adhesive solution, it is necessary to use special catalysts.

Instructions for use
Applying the material is not difficult. It is very important to properly prepare the surfaces, for which they are washed and cleaned of any dirt and grease. The area of the future joint should be degreased (Cosmofen 10 or 60 are suitable) and dried thoroughly.
When wiping the base, it is important to use lint-free rags that do not leave hairs. Next you should proceed as follows:
- squeeze out a little product along the length of the entire seam;
- You cannot rub or smear liquid plastic;
- If possible, the product should be pressed;
- maintain the complete drying time specified in the instructions;
- the position of the parts can only be changed within a few seconds;
- It is necessary to observe the conditions during work - temperature above +5, but not more than 25 degrees, humidity less than 60%.
Is it possible to somehow wipe off the Cosmofen glue?
Cosmofen glue for plastic is quite difficult to wipe off. If excess adhesive solution has formed, or frozen drops of it remain on the material after use, it is recommended to remove them using special cleaning agents. For example, you can use Cosmo branded cleaner.
- If it is not possible to purchase such a cleaner, then it is recommended to use traditional “Dimexide”. The product must be applied to the hardened adhesive composition and wait 3-4 minutes. As a result of exposure to Dimexide, the hardened solution will gradually begin to soften, so it can be removed with a rag or damp cloth. If a large amount of Cosmofen glue was accidentally spilled, then the frozen adhesive solution will need to be soaked repeatedly - until the entire frozen mixture is softened.
- If the adhesive mixture has frozen on your hands, do not try to rub it off mechanically. In this case, Cosmofen glue can also be removed using Dimexide, but the product must be diluted with clean water at room temperature in a ratio of 1:3. Dimexide cannot be used in its pure form, as it can cause severe burns.
Important! If a highly concentrated type of Cosmofen glue comes into contact with the skin, there is a possibility of a fairly severe chemical burn at the site of contact. In such a situation, it is recommended to seek help from a medical facility as quickly as possible.
Storage rules
Cosmofen glue must be stored in accordance with the rules established by the manufacturer:
- At room temperature, the adhesive composition can be stored and used periodically for 5-6 months.
- If the temperature is low (less than +5o C), then it can be stored and used for 10-12 months.
- Storage should be carried out at a humidity of no more than 65%.
- The adhesive solution must be stored in a dark place (it is important that the product packaging is not exposed to the sun's rays and is not exposed to ultraviolet radiation).
- If the original packaging is broken, the maximum shelf life is 3-4 months.
