This is the best alternative to the discontinued AlphaLine 90 profile. However, first things first.
The number “82” in the name means the thickness of the frame profile in millimeters – 82 mm. It can also be found under the name Veka Softline 82. The next step towards increasing the energy efficiency of windows, after the previous Veka 70 series. One of the newest and most modern systems with excellent insulating characteristics!
See at the end of this publication a summary table with key characteristics for all Century profile systems.
- Closed metal reinforcement inside the profile ensures high stability of structures. Reinforcement material: galvanized steel with a thickness of at least 1.5 mm (VEKA standard)
- It has high sound insulation and will create peace and quiet in your home.
- Plastic of the highest quality, produced according to Veka's proprietary recipe, will be resistant to environmental influences. This plastic does not require painting or any special
care. Does not turn yellow. - The even, smooth surface of the window with a silky shine will retain the effect of newness for many years and will not be covered with thousands of small scratches, unlike other, more glossy systems existing on the market.
Features of the Veka 82 SoftLine system
- The thickness of the outer wall of the profile is 3 mm, which corresponds to class A of the European RAL system according to DIN EN 12608
- The window has three sealing contours at the junction of the frame and the sash. The seals are made of the most modern material. Its important property is the ability to maintain elasticity even at low temperatures, which means that the window will be protected from dust, moisture and noise, and will also maintain its tightness in the most severe frosts!
- 7 chambers (frame) and 6 chambers (sash) inside the profile! .
- The depth of the installation seam is 82 mm .
- It is possible to install seals not only black , but also gray .
- Rebate height – the installation depth of the glass unit in the frame is up to 25 mm. This minimizes the possibility of the so-called “edge effect” and the likelihood of condensation forming around the perimeter of the glass unit (in the area of the spacer frame).
- The VEKA 82 system is compatible with connection profiles for systems with a 70 mm installation width.
- The profile is perfectly decorated!
Lamination is possible (+ lamination in bulk) and painting according to the RAL catalog (
without the possibility of painting the fold). It is also possible to replace the black EPDM seal with a gray or caramel- colored seal, as well as with a more advanced two-component Q-Lon Shlegel seal (black+gray). All this expands design possibilities. - 5 year warranty.

Thermal insulation level
Thanks to the increased installation width in Softline windows, it is possible to achieve a higher level of thermal insulation and sound insulation. Such double-glazed windows effectively cope with several tasks:
- prevent the penetration of cold air even in harsh climatic conditions;
- muffles the street noise of busy highways.
At the same time, options with a smaller frame width cannot be called lower quality. When choosing, you should proceed from the requirements for window systems. So in regions with a mild climate there is no need for wide frames, while areas with a harsh climate require enhanced insulation of housing.
Price
When describing the Veka Softline 70 mm and 82 mm profile, you need to take into account the price of the products. Compared to some other lines of the company, it can be called a premium profile. At the same time, a minimal number of additions will allow you to install plastic window systems at an affordable price.
What fittings are used?
By default, German innovative fittings GU (Gretsch-Unitas Gmbh) are used with preinstalled options:

Customer reviews about the profile
Dmitry, 48 years old, Krasnoyarsk The question of choosing plastic windows arose during the construction of a private house. The main task was to choose strong and warm plastic windows, but not to overpay for unnecessary additions. My wife and I did not follow the lead of advertising and began to independently study the technological characteristics of profiles from several manufacturers. As a result, we chose Softline windows from Vek. There are several advantages that can be mentioned:
- The width of 70 mm allows you to install double-glazed windows. For a private home, this is an important indicator of energy efficiency.
- The quality of profile reinforcement was studied with particular passion. The products of this company offer a closed reinforced profile (in the form of a rectangle). This feature makes the windows as durable and resistant to deformation as possible.
The disadvantages include the fact that the window structures are relatively heavy and that the price is an order of magnitude higher than the prices of many other systems.
Tatyana, 29 years old, Tyumen I ordered Softline windows for my apartment. Choosing the best option from what is offered on the market is difficult. The assortment is large, but I have no special knowledge in this area. I asked friends who had recently installed windows. Several people ordered Veka products (70 mm thick), and that’s what I chose. I've been using it for a year now and am completely satisfied with the results. The windows turned out to be warm and not ventilating. You can hardly hear city noise, although I live on a street with active traffic. Condensation does not accumulate on the glass (windows do not “cry”).
Igor, 34 years old, Surgut
We live in a private house, and the window in the living room was recently replaced. We ordered Veka Softline windows 82 mm. Some friends believe that we overpaid for unnecessary reinforcement of the structure. However, we were completely satisfied. The cost turned out to be considerable, but the house became warmer. Before this, in the winter the frames in the hall were heavily blown and it was cold in the house.
Technical characteristics of softline profiles 70 mm and 82 mm
To choose the best option for a particular case, you should study the technical indicators of the Veka system in more detail - profile structures have different characteristics and operational features.
Plastic profile Softline 70 mm:
Frame thickness or installation width (mm) | 70 |
Number of cameras in the frame (pcs.) | 5 |
Seal contours (pcs.) | 2 |
Permissible glass thickness (mm) | 4-42 |
Heat transfer resistance (m2 C/W) | 0,75 |
The main characteristic of this window profile is in millimeters, width 70 mm. This feature makes it possible to install a wide energy-saving package. For owners of private houses, this choice will be optimal: energy losses at home are reduced and, accordingly, home heating costs are reduced.
The frame with 5 air chambers fully complies with the requirements for window systems of category A (the highest category).
The installation of Veka Softline 70 mm allows the use of wide double-glazed windows with a thickness of 4-42 millimeters.
This distinguishes the profile from other product lines of the manufacturer. So in Euroline windows (Veka Euroline) the thickness of the double-glazed windows reaches 32 mm. The minimum number of double-glazed windows is 2.
The frame design is supplemented with closed-section reinforcement. This feature makes the window structure as durable as possible and resistant to mechanical damage.
At the customer’s request, such structures can have the following types of opening mechanisms:
- blind (non-opening), often used in office buildings;
- rotary;
- folding;
- tilt and turn.
Veka Softline windows 82 mm:
Frame thickness or installation width (mm) | 82 |
Number of cameras in the frame (pcs.) | 6-7 |
Seal contours (pcs.) | 3 |
Permissible glass thickness (mm) | 24-52 |
Heat transfer resistance (m2 C/W) | 1,09 |
Window systems with a frame thickness of 82 mm are considered structures with increased heat and sound insulation characteristics. Manufacturers have improved the technical characteristics by increasing the number of chambers in the frame - here there can be 6 or 7 of them. The maximum thickness of the glass unit has also been increased (24-52 mm).
Residents of those regions where winters are characterized by low temperatures and strong winds can choose such products.
Additional protection is provided by 3 insulation circuits. This exceeds the performance of most other lines from this manufacturer and even Veka Softline ad (70 mm).
Such softline energy efficiency indicators can be used for installation in private homes, office and industrial buildings. In this case, different technological types of structures can be manufactured, such as:
- standard;
- products with an increased level of thermal insulation;
- designs with a high safety rating.
An important feature when ordering window structures is the choice of fittings. Roto nt fittings are suitable for the window, however, all types of handles and other mechanisms used for PVC windows are suitable for this window system.
