Layout on PVC windows: glazing, double glazing with layout in the interior

Deglazing - what is it, types

In essence, these are several separate double-glazed windows combined into one sheet.
The sashes can be either hinged or blind. For example, a standard window with several sashes is glazed. It is also used in the manufacture of double-glazed windows of irregular shape, for example triangular, arched. Decorative glazing is more often used in the manufacture of wooden windows - wood is easier to process, and double-glazed windows can be made to almost any customer size.

For plastic windows, plastic linings or sprockets are more often used.

We also invite you to watch a short video about decorative layouts (shpros).

False linings for double-glazed windows and frames

Using false trim is a great way to decorate and add personality to your windows. This is a great way to avoid lean and standard windows. Decorative overlays can be connected to each other in any way you like, so the result of such decoration depends only on your imagination. Often false linings are called false binding. It is important to note that linings and glazing elements are applied to double-glazed windows, and double-glazed windows can be used in both plastic and wooden windows, so most of the described options and solutions also apply to wooden windows with double-glazed windows.

Decorative sprocket joints

If you need to give a window a vintage or luxurious look, then using sprockets with decorative joints will be the best solution. Many decorative connections allow you to achieve completely unique combinations, thanks to which the window will become unique and inimitable, and its appearance will attract the eyes of onlookers. Windows with decorative connections are the choice of wealthy and prominent people.

Features and types of false bindings

Decorative false binding is an overlay element that is attached to the glass from the outside or inside using glue or double-sided tape. Decorations do not affect the thermal conductivity and other operational characteristics of the window; they perform only decorative functions.

False linings on PVC windows

Window accessories are presented in a wide range and are classified according to several criteria:

  • Type of material. Plastic panels are most often used, less often aluminum and wood.
  • Dimensions. The general principle of choice: the larger the glazing area, the more massive the decor you can choose. Narrower strips are suitable for creating ornate patterns and monograms.
  • Color. Available in plain white or color, with imitation wood texture. Typically, layouts are chosen to match the frame; it is possible to use contrasting decor and various combinations depending on the design idea.
  • Form. There are straight, bent, and milled edges.

Venetian layout

This is the easiest and most inexpensive way to give your window a fresh new look. A lightweight decorative profile is attached to the external surface on the street side. The parallel layout both outside and inside more reliably imitates a structural frame binding. To implement window design using the Venetian layout technology, individual strips and ready-made structures of various shapes and designs are sold. You should not overload small window openings with decorative elements, as this reduces the flow of natural light into the room.

The main advantages of decorating double-glazed windows using false bindings:

  • ease of installation, which allows you to carry out the work yourself;
  • low cost of consumables;
  • suitable for windows of any size;
  • installation can be performed at any stage of window manufacturing, even after installation;
  • original sophisticated design without complex and expensive solutions.

The decor on the glass surface is subject to mechanical and weather influences. The main disadvantage of Venetian false bindings is their short service life compared to internal frame slats, which is compensated by the low cost of accessories and the ability to quickly redo the design.

An additional disadvantage is the complication of window care. Dirt and water accumulate around decorative layouts, making it difficult to keep the glass clean. The decor, which is small in area and simple in shape, can be removed for general cleaning, but this should not be abused, since the adhesive layer is destroyed.

Viennese layout

This is a hybrid of the Venetian layout and structural sprocket bars. With this design method, decorative parts made of plastic, metal or wood with sealing gaskets are mounted on the outside of the glass. Inside the double-glazed window, a spacer frame is installed parallel to them, simulating the division of glass into several segments. Thanks to this technique, it is possible to achieve maximum similarity with real sprats.

The disadvantage of this solution is an increase in heat loss, since the spacer will act as a cold bridge. Accordingly, the more sections the layout forms, the higher the thermal conductivity of the glass unit.

Advantages of windows with interglazed bars

The “grid” on the windows has a number of advantages. We have already mentioned some of them during this publication. Let's look at other advantages of sash windows. We will describe popular windows with interglazed glazing, in which the bars are located inside the double-glazed window.

  • They do not protrude from the outside of the glass, so they do not accumulate dust, dirt, and streaks do not appear on them at the intersection of the “grids” after rain.
  • Easy care. Since they are located inside, they do not interfere with window cleaning.
  • Large assortment of designs, wide range of colors. Bindings can differ not only in color, but also in width, as well as geometry (positioned straight, bent into an arc).
  • They do not fade during use and do not change color or shape.
  • Durability. This window design does not reduce its service life.
  • Low thermal conductivity. The double-glazed window does not release heat, so such a window will be much warmer than without a window frame.

Windows with frames: pros and cons

Only structural and overhead beams have disadvantages - the former have high thermal conductivity, and the latter quickly become dirty. And one more minus - if the “grid” is wide, then it prevents the penetration of light into the room.

Finally, we will give some recommendations regarding the choice of windows with shutters. Deglazing must be correlated with the architecture of the house, its external design, and facade decoration. Everything should be organic - the color, pattern, thickness of the bindings should be combined not only with each other, but also with the facade of the country house. Thick sashes should not be installed on small windows. Likewise, you shouldn’t be too partial with the “grid” - you don’t need to place the bars too often and close to each other. Once the windows are installed, it will no longer be possible to change the design, so it’s worth thinking through everything down to the smallest detail at the planning and design stage.

Windows with spraters: ideal for country houses

Sometimes designers try their best to distinguish a residential building from hundreds of similar ones, to add zest and uniqueness to its façade. But the solution lies on the surface, and it lies in the use of such a functional element as windows with shutters.

What are sash windows and what do they look like?

These are ordinary windows, the inside of which is delimited by a “grid”. It can be decorative, or it can be functional. In our latitudes, metal-plastic windows with decorative bars are mainly used, while in Europe the “grid” is a structural part of wooden windows.

Deglazing really makes its contribution to the decorative design of the facade of the house; it looks more attractive and advantageous compared to neighboring buildings. But inside the room, the curtains also give the interior a more comfortable and interesting look.

What is devitrification? This is when the internal space of the window sash is divided into cells, which can be not only strictly rectangular, but also other shapes, including curved ones.

Looking at such windows, one can identify their similarity to stained glass - all the same frames on the sashes, only there are not enough pieces of colored glass.

By the way, the frames are usually made in the same color as the window frames, so they will not spoil either the interior or the exterior.

Types of spross: functionality or decorativeness

In fact, there are not three types of binding, but more. We will look at the three most common ones - those that are found most often in modern construction.

  1. Constructive. This is when the frame is divided into smaller parts by grooves, and double-glazed windows are inserted into them. In fact, here the sprockets act as part of the frames and show not only decorative, but also structural advantages. This type of glazing is usually used in the manufacture of large windows with shrouds, and they are known to have significant weight. Structural beams give the structure strength, and all this is achieved thanks to the additional frame. But as far as thermal conductivity is concerned, they lose - the larger the profile in the window, the colder it is considered. Wooden windows with frames photo
  2. Decorative. They do not remove the load from the glass unit and do not give the window sash strength, but thanks to a significant number of layout options, they allow you to give the window any look, from simple to cozy and even mysterious. Such decorative overlays are placed on the outside of the double-glazed window, but, unlike the previous option, they are not a unifying link of several small double-glazed windows, but only visually divide one large double-glazed window into parts.
  3. Interglass. If we are talking about double-glazed windows that are now common, then the bars are placed inside it, and not outside. This has its advantages, which include not only easier care of such windows and keeping them clean, but also increased thermal conductivity. The thing is that the sprockets are made of aluminum, which, compared to gas, conducts heat better. Therefore, plastic windows with crossbars will be warmer than without “jumpers” in a double-glazed window filled with gas.

Sprats may differ in appearance - thickness, color, shape. Thick "frames" are suitable for large, massive windows, while on small windows they will look awkward.

It’s the same with color - what is suitable for a classic interior is completely unacceptable for a high-tech room.

False binding

These are the names of decorative overlays (strips) made of plastic or polyvinyl chloride, which have an adhesive base and are attached to the outer part of the glass. Due to the fact that the height of the profiles coincides with the height of the frame, the illusion of binding is created.

The advantage is that you can attach them at any time (order ready-made windows or install them after installation). The first option is preferable - it turns out much neater.

Overlays can be narrow, wide, with smooth edges, tightly fitting to the base, or milled, reminiscent of partitions on wooden window sashes.

Advice: it is better to repeat the layout pattern on the inside of the glass - you will get the complete illusion of a decorative binding.

Decorative elements do not in any way affect the operational properties of the double-glazed window - there are no cold bridges, and they are affordable. Plus the opportunity to implement any design solutions - break the glass sheet into identical fragments, create an imitation of an arch or decorate it with monograms.

False bindings are also used if it is necessary to divide large glass into symmetrical fragments to give greater rigidity to the structure - this is cheaper than installing stationary imposts.

Color – any (from classic white to imitation wooden surface). Various dyeing and lamination technologies are used in production.

One of the disadvantages is the difficulty in caring for double-glazed windows. Over time, dust accumulates at the places where the profiles are attached. Therefore, cleaning will take much more time. Well, the service life is relatively short. Over time, the linings may fade and crack.

Tip: small pads can be removed to make cleaning easier, but without fanaticism, since the adhesive layer is destroyed. When repeatedly re-glued, the decorative design looks sloppy.

Shprosy

Visually they resemble a golden mesh, sometimes complemented by decor in the form of rhombuses, curls, and an ornament consisting of individual fragments. As a result, the glass sheet is divided into symmetrical cells, rectangles, and diamonds. They are mounted on spacer frames during the manufacture of double-glazed windows. The width of the profiles is from 8 to 25 mm. They come in plastic and aluminum. The latter, by the way, reduce the thermal insulation characteristics of the structure.

The color range is limited, so it is not always possible to choose a shade that matches the color of the frame. A universal option is a “gold” profile, white or brown.

Important: if the profile is damaged (from a strong impact of the sash on the frame, for example), the entire glass unit will have to be replaced.

Advantages of the design: it provides additional rigidity (indispensable for panoramic glazing), and does not interfere with cleaning. The disadvantages are high heat loss and, if the house is located next to a transport intersection, the rattling of the brackets on the glass. The sound is unpleasant and cannot be eliminated. Well, the price is not at all budgetary (even with minimal decor).

Shpros: structural and inter-glass

Shpros are elements of a frame structure that divide the window area into separate segments. In old wooden windows, such a solution was necessary to give rigidity to the frame and install the glass in the frame in separate pieces.

In modern products, real structural interlocks, which are an integral part of the binding, are rare. They are mainly used for wooden window-door units or panoramic structures to enhance a large glazing area. The greater the number of crossbars (shpros) provided in the frame, the more durable the structure will be.

Windows with frames

Disadvantages of this type of design:

  • increasing the cost of the finished product due to the use of more consumables and more complex technology;
  • making the window block heavier, which is often undesirable or unacceptable when glazing a balcony;
  • deterioration of the thermal insulation qualities of the window; The main heat leakage from the room occurs through the junction of the glass and the profile; a large number of layouts in the design of a double-glazed window leads to increased heat loss and heating costs;
  • increased likelihood of depressurization of the glass unit at the joints of parts;
  • Manufacturing windows with crossbars with proper quality requires a high level of qualification from the craftsman.

For plastic products, imitation is more often used - decorative strips are installed between the glasses and secured at the production stage.

Shpros inside the double glazed window

Decorative strips do not interfere with window cleaning

In addition to their elegant appearance, such products acquire additional resistance to vibrations and deformations during operation. Installations inside a sealed structure are reliably protected from the effects of adverse environmental factors, mechanical damage and retain their original appearance for a long time.

For internal installation, plastic or aluminum elements are used. The latter reduce the thermal insulation properties of the glass unit. It is advisable to use products with structural and interglazed metal grommets in regions with mild climates, for interior glazing or in non-residential premises where increased heat loss is not critical.

Plastic frames with veranda decor

These are structures made of plastic profiles. The filling of such frames is usually double glazing, which makes such products warm and is recommended when the task is to make the room warm. Veranda glazing inside the frame is achieved in two ways. The first is when decor is glued to the glass unit inside the frame and an internal pattern is created that makes the frame a veranda. And the second is when a drawing is also made inside the double-glazed window by crossing crossbars and thin profiles and the frame again becomes a veranda. The decor is cheaper than sprats and therefore is more often in demand. Plastic veranda frames are installed in different cases, but more often when it comes to making a room, a veranda, winter, to retain heat.

Layout on PVC windows

Windows Prof >> Windows info >> Layout on PVC windows: glazing, double glazing with layout in the interior

Plastic double-glazed windows are good for everyone - they retain heat well, and the frames are easy to care for. And if in a typical high-rise building standard glazing looks quite harmonious, then fitting PVC structures into the overall stylistic design of a private house is problematic. The layout of PVC windows is an inexpensive way to add personality to your home or update tired double-glazed windows.

How to mount the layout yourself

First, sketch out a sketch of the future drawing on paper. There is no need to come up with complex ornaments. No matter how carefully you work, it will still not be possible to adjust the profile exactly to size. The easiest option to use is to imitate the classic layout. The result should be a window with lintels, reminiscent of windows in ancient houses.

Stages of work

  1. Mark the glass according to the sketch, measure and calculate the required amount of materials.
  2. Cut plastic profiles with a sharp knife. There should be no unevenness or burrs - all flaws will be obvious. The result is a sloppy look instead of a decorative one.
  3. Place the finished pieces on the glass and check the dimensions again. If necessary, trim so that the profiles at the joints fit snugly against each other.
  4. Degrease the glass (acetone or alcohol will do).
  5. Remove the protective film from the profiles and apply it to the glass with light pressure. For a reliable connection and protection from moisture getting under the profiles, apply silicone sealant along the edges of the pattern and joints. The main thing is to be careful so that there are no marks left on the glass.

Advice: it is better to repeat the work from the inside. The adhesive back of the profiles looks ugly, and because of the black color it is very noticeable.

How to install a decorative layout

Plastic windows with a layout can be decorated with interglazing bars in the form of aluminum or plastic plates, or decorative overlays. Interglazed elements are laid directly at the window manufacturing stage, so they cannot be replaced in an already installed double-glazed window. There are also ready-made overhead frames that are fixed in the opening from the outside of the glass - they are more common for wooden rather than plastic windows.

Thus, decorative layouts are divided according to installation method into:

  1. Internal in the form of a metal or plastic profile, fixed to the windows from the inside. This layout is attached to the spacer frame using special end connectors. The end latch in this design is installed in a small 3mm hole. The internal layout performs not only an aesthetic function, but also represents a structurally necessary element - especially. if we are talking about large double-glazed windows, a large-scale glazing area. Additional structural elements provide protection for the window from external damage and the effects of temperature changes, frost, and so on.
  2. External or external decorative layouts are attached directly to the surface of the glass after the glass unit has been assembled. The result is a false binding for plastic windows, fixed to the glass with a special adhesive layer. This method can demonstrate flat, figured or relief designs - it all depends on what decorative tasks were initially set.

For self-installation, decorative plastic overlays are most often chosen . Before installing them on the glass surface, a sketch must be made - the markings are done with a pencil or marker with maximum accuracy.

If you want to create a complex ornament instead of a traditional false binding, then you should carry out the work with special care. After all, with a large number of disparate elements, it will be difficult to correctly design all their joints formed at the intersection of the binding or at the junction of the frame, glazing beads and overlays. If the joints are uneven and rough, you can forget about the decorativeness of the window opening.

Options for sketches of plastic windows with false sash

The actual work of installing the layout on the windows is done with your own hands in the following sequence:

  1. The decorative profile is measured in accordance with the markings on the sketch and the required part is cut off with a sharp knife - so that there are no roughness or burrs at the cut site.
  1. The cut pieces must be applied to the window without removing the protective film. This is necessary in order to once again check the size of the elements.
  2. You need to remove the protective film from the double-sided tape located at the bottom of the cover.
  3. The profile for creating a false binding is attached with gentle movements and light pressure.
  4. In order to ensure the structure is tight and durable, all joints, as well as the side parts of the linings, are treated with silicone sealant. The sealant must be applied very carefully so as not to stain the glass.

If you want to turn your windows into an impeccable design masterpiece with the help of curly overlays, it is better to entrust the process of creating the layout to professionals - this way you will save yourself from unnecessary expenses on damaged material. Window decorating specialists will use the appropriate tools and complete all work very quickly.

False linings

Using false trims you can decorate a window or add style - for example, "English style" - to the window. False linings come in different sizes and, like windows, can be laminated to resemble wood or painted in any RAL color. By repeating the shape of a window, for example, an arched one, or radiating rays to the top of the window, you can repeat the pattern of almost any old window or create your own new pattern. The false cover is glued to the double-glazed window on both sides and, accordingly, can be white on one side of the window and colored on the other. You can buy false linings of various types and styles from us.

When are false linings needed?

In some cases, installing overlays on double-glazed windows is a recommendation, and in others a necessity. If the windows are in an old building, the windows of which overlook a noisy avenue, then when replacing such windows it is extremely important to preserve their original appearance. Often such windows have a decorative layout, so when replacing them with new plastic windows, this layout must be repeated. This is precisely the issue that false linings solve. Many layout options allow you to simulate any layout combination.

Windows with layout in the interior of a private house

When choosing a layout, keep in mind that the design on the window can add sophistication to the facade, or negate all the designer’s efforts. If the house is still under construction, be sure to consider several options. Let's take, for example, an ordinary red brick house, without bay windows or other decorative frills. The best option in this case is white double-glazed windows with narrow profiles and a classic cross layout or Viennese (imitation of an arched window).

If you like a prim and, at the same time, laconic English style, choose overlays in the color of wood, medium in width with milled edges.

Panoramic French windows will only benefit if complemented with a simple geometric layout. Strict straight lines will add rigor and sophistication to the interior.

Golden sprockets are suitable for houses with plastered, wooden or walls decorated with textured brick. White or brown tabs look good in the design of bay windows or elongated arched window openings. Choose depending on the color of the frames and facade.

Advice: on special forums, users share their opinions that golden sprockets begin to irritate over time. Especially if they are installed in small double-glazed windows. In this case, the only way out is to replace the structures. Pleasure is not cheap.

If you don’t want to constantly look at the street through the cage, choose the layout in such a way that the central part remains free. For example, a rectangle in the center, framed by narrow strips along the perimeter of the glass closer to the frame. You can find photos with suitable examples on the Internet.

A significant drawback of the internal layout is heat loss. If you plan to add French windows with shutters, then you cannot do without installing floor radiators.

If the sashes are hinged, it is worth considering the placement of the pattern in advance so that the hinges or linings are positioned symmetrically. Narrow stripes around the perimeter, forming simple geometric shapes at the corners, look good.

Tip: monograms and curlicues, imitation stained glass are suitable for decorating large glasses. For narrow openings, it is better to choose simpler designs - there will be enough light in the room, and the window will not resemble a sideboard door.

To decorate your house in the same style, you can additionally order a layout for entrance and interior doors. The layout also looks good on glass, sliding partitions.

What is layout, glazing and false sash in windows?

Do you want to decorate your home with original windows? Layout, false bindings or glazing with a slab will help you with this.

Often you want your home to be different from its neighbor, and a typical apartment to show signs of your individuality and taste. Sometimes there is a task to replace an old window with a window with the latest technology, while maximally preserving the appearance of the window and the facade of the building as a whole. In such and similar cases, layouts, false bindings and glazing are used.

Where did the desire to divide the window into squares come from? Initially, the windows were covered with mica, a mineral whose plates were not large, so mica windows resembled a patchwork quilt. Later, mica was replaced by glass, which, although known to mankind since the 1st century AD, was very expensive, so large openings had to be covered not with one large piece of glass, but with many small ones. Over time, this appearance of windows has become traditional for many countries, for example, Great Britain. With the development of technology, glass has become much cheaper and the traditional look of windows for an English-style home has to be imitated.

Technical limitations for the manufacture of plastic windows

Often there is a desire to install a panoramic blind or opening window that is not divided by an impost. It is not always possible to make it, since there are technical limitations for the sizes of plastic windows, as well as for the sizes of blind parts and opening sashes. Restrictions also apply to extremely small windows.

Main technical restrictions according to GOST 30674-99

  • Maximum sash weight: 80 kg for white, 60 kg for colored products.
  • Maximum profile length in a plastic window: 4 m for white, 2.5 m for colored.
  • Maximum area of a plastic window: 6 m2.
  • Maximum opening area: 2.5 m2.

Main technical restrictions on production equipment and fittings

  • The minimum side of a blind window is 200 mm.
  • The minimum side of the sash is 450 mm.
  • The maximum length of a plastic window is 3.2 m.
  • Maximum sash height 2.3 m.

If the window dimensions exceed the maximum, then it is necessary to divide the structure into several frames and join them together. If the dimensions of the sashes exceed the permissible limits, we recommend changing the glazing by adding blind or opening sashes.

Additional options

Additional options and accessories for windows

Additional elements are like accessories for a good thing.

They decorate your windows, fulfilling both design purposes and also making the windows more functional and easy to use!

False binding. It is used, as a rule, for glazing country houses, cottages and apartments with antique windows or with antique glazing of sashes. Only, if 100 years ago pieces of glass were inserted inside the binding, now the false binding is a purely decorative profile that is glued to the double-glazed window.

Aeromat Mini is a passive ventilator for wooden windows. Comfortable ventilation without problems!

What's the trick? The window remains closed, maintaining its burglary resistance, and the flow of fresh air is regulated automatically. Great? Certainly! Comfortable? Undoubtedly.

When ordering windows, by default, ordinary handles are taken into account. But if you have small children at home, we recommend that you order a handle with a lock. The handle allows you to lock the window with a key so that it will be impossible to turn the handle (and open it). You can leave the window in micro-ventilation mode and lock it - air will flow in, but it will be impossible to open the window.

Shpros for the window. Shprosy can be compared to false binding, but the main difference is that the sprós are installed inside the double-glazed window. This makes it very easy to care for the surface of the glass; nothing interferes with washing the windows. Sprats come in gold and white.

Petal handle for balcony door. It is installed on the balcony side and allows you to tightly close the balcony door and calmly smoke on the balcony or hang laundry in the fresh frosty air. Must be ordered together with a screw (latch).

We offer a wide range of different window handles in different colors. If you are buying laminated windows, colored windows or wooden windows, this section will help you choose the most suitable handles.

A window comb is the most common sash opening limiter. Installed with self-tapping screws during installation or at any other time. Allows you to fix the sash or balcony door in 4 positions. Works great in both swing and tilt modes.

On the issue of window decoration: layout or broaching.

Our customers sometimes name an element of plastic windows, the popularity of which is increasing every year. Moreover, the approach to coming up with a name is completely different for men and women. For men, a logical and constructive approach prevails, as evidenced by the names themselves: “false frame”, “overlay on glass”, “decorative binding”. For women, the process of inventing finds support in the sphere of emotions. Therefore, from their lips you can often hear the following definitions: “golden things in the form of lines on glass”, “such beautiful crossbars with squiggles in the corners”, “applied squares and rays of sunshine”.

In both the male and female versions, we are talking about sprats, which is the name given to special profile elements of various widths, from which a contour pattern is created on the glass of a plastic window. Often, when talking about sprockets, a more understandable, from the point of view of meaning, name is used - decorative layout. Our today's publication is exactly about this.

It is clear that the main function that decorative layouts perform is window decoration: it is thanks to its use that you can:

  • give a completely different personality even to initially identical plastic windows. You can verify this by looking at the photographs presented. Straight lines running parallel to the frame enhance the feeling of majestic severity. The intersection of the golden lines of a rectangle located in the central part of the window with the same golden lines of squares in the corners of the window gives the window originality and originality. And there can be many options and combinations depending on what look you want to give to the windows;
  • using the same layout pattern on different windows, achieve completely different visual perceptions;
  • give clear outlines to glass surfaces of a window that are large enough in area, dividing them into smaller geometric shapes. This will lead to the creation of a completely unique window, thanks to the correct selection of the layout width and the pattern created from the layout elements. Since the sprockets vary in width and configuration (they can be straight, curved in the shape of an arc or a circle), there can be a lot of options for creating patterns. In order not to make a mistake in your choice and to get the maximum effect from using grommets in windows, you should not rely only on your taste. As they say, one mind is good, but the mind of a specialist with his professional knowledge in this field is better;
  • choose the color of the layout that best fits into the overall picture, creating a single, finished look for the facade of the house. Most often, customers choose standard colors: white, gold, brown, but at the customer’s request we can give the layout almost any other color.
  • Based on the purpose of using a decorative layout, the customer can choose a flat or embossed layout, the height (thickness) of which can be different: 8 mm, 18 mm, 26 mm.

Violation of sash dimensions

In order for the fittings to work correctly and smoothly, the sash is hermetically adjacent to the frame profile, its size must correspond to the standard. There should be no gaps or overlaps in the window system.

  • Rebate is the space between the closed sash and the frame. It is necessary for the free movement of displaceable parts of the fittings. If the dimensions of the sash exceed the recommended ones by even 2 mm, the clearance is reduced by the same 2 mm. The fittings are adjustable within a range of about 2 mm. It turns out that the sash cannot be adjusted, and the fasteners may jam.
  • The overlap is the area where the sash joins the frame with the area with the seal. The overlap width is 8 mm. If the sash is 2 mm smaller than the standard size, when closing it, the seal will not adhere to the abutment area on the profile, not the entire width, but only partially. As a result, the tightness of the window system is broken, it is blown out, and it freezes. When installing a sash 2 mm larger than the standard size, it will not be possible to adjust it; the fittings will jam.
