Glass factories and manufacturers of glass products

The window business in Russia began more than 20 years ago with businessmen importing ready-made window blocks from European countries into the country. The installation was carried out both by these entrepreneurs themselves and by separate teams in Moscow, who worked not only without licenses, but also with virtually no experience - they learned everything on the fly.

The next stage unfolded differently for the window workers who had gotten back on their feet. Some became dealers - representing the interests of foreign manufacturers in Russian spaces (this, by the way, is the least expensive option). Others invested their first small money in their own production.

“Own production” sounds proud, of course, but the first workshops were exclusively engaged in assembling structures from metal-plastic profiles and were located in premises unsuitable for such work - from garages to abandoned warehouses.

All components were supplied from abroad, so there were interruptions and supply disruptions, and, ultimately, the consumer suffered due to high prices and long window production times. The equipment cost incredible amounts of money, and therefore the percentage of manual labor was very high. The quality of the products, accordingly, left much to be desired.

Gradually, with the emergence of opportunities for the development of window production in our country, well-equipped window assembly factories, modern lines for the production of double-glazed windows, and factories with their own production of metal-plastic profiles appeared in our country.

There are still only a few full-cycle factories in such a huge country. And there are reasons for this.

The Russian window market is entering a new difficult time

All participants in the window market must understand that the time for “rose-colored glasses” has passed and a harsh reality is beginning for the next five, ten, and possibly 20 years. In the new reality, the presence of production of finished products and all components for them will allow unhindered work in the Russian Federation and will provide a huge concrete advantage. Enterprises that do not invest in import substitution will in the future expect a reduction in their share and possibly exit from the Russian market.

The imposed and planned sanctions by the US and the EU are aimed at “hitting” the economy, the country’s authorities and every Russian. Imported goods and components will rise sharply in price due to rising exchange rates, sanctions, and difficulties in deliveries and payments.

Then, sanctioned companies will need to redirect supplies through other companies and countries, which will increase duties, logistics costs and increase delivery times.

Over the 25 years of the existence of the modern window market, many European production facilities have opened in Russia. Their sales shares in the country are significant, sometimes taking 1-3 place from the total. But there is no 100% import substitution, and this can have an extremely negative impact on the activities of companies.

Reasonable approach

Ratings are, of course, great, but you can’t rely solely on the big name of the manufacturer. We advise you to pay attention to some important points:

  1. The catalog of most companies contains an assortment of profiles that differ in complexity and cost. You cannot put inexpensive models of well-known brands on a par with premium samples of products from lesser-known companies.
  2. Manufacturers are constantly improving their products by making changes to their design. Therefore, it makes no sense to talk about the design of specific modifications. This data quickly becomes outdated.
  3. When looking for an answer to the question of which profile for plastic windows is better, user reviews do not always provide objective information. After all, the performance characteristics of window systems, among other things, depend on the quality of manufacturing and installation. The quality of the materials used can be negated by the negligence of the work performers.

When caring about comfort in your apartment, do not try to save on small things. When you decide to spend money on good windows, be prepared to pay not only for the best profiles, but also for the responsible work of frame manufacturers and installers.

What products and components for the window market are produced in Russia?

Russia produces a large list of finished window products and components for the window market:

  • plastic, wooden, aluminum windows – 99.7%;
  • PVC window profile – 98.5%;
  • chalk - 60%;
  • aluminum profile – 80%;
  • glass - 99%;
  • reinforcement – 99%;
  • window sills – 100%;
  • slopes – 100%;
  • mounting tapes - 100%;
  • seals – 90%;
  • sealants - 99% are mixed in Russia, but all raw materials are imported;
  • PVC-S – 90% of Russian consumption, but manufacturers can provide 100% of the country’s consumption;
  • spacers for double-glazed windows – 95%;
  • cold-worked steel for fittings – covers 20% of the market volume (100% of current production volumes in Russia; if demand increases, Severstal can invest in increasing volumes);
  • fittings - less than 20% of the market volume, but frames produced in the Russian Federation are equipped with some European ones, so we can say that window fittings are 100% imported. However, from March 1, 2022, the only full-cycle plant in Russia, UNION, will be launched. But increasing volumes will take time.

The raw materials for most window components are supplied from abroad. Investments in import substitution will provide an unprecedented competitive advantage: independence, stability and high incomes. This is a huge opportunity on the threshold of the 2nd wave of replacement of plastic windows and growth in market volumes.

The best PVC window profiles

The rating of plastic window companies directly depends on the brand and type of components used. Based on the combination of the above parameters, the list of companies producing the highest quality profiles includes:

  • Veka. A well-known German company, one of the recognized industry leaders. Its strengths include careful design of the products being created, a responsible approach to the selection of materials and components, and excellent performance and decorative characteristics. It is not difficult to guess that all this leads to an increase in cost. Some consumers believe that prices for windows made from Veka profiles are unreasonably high.
  • Rehau. Perhaps the most popular brand on the Russian market. The reason for its popularity lies in the proven balance of price and quality. The emphasis is on metal-plastic systems. If you want to install comfortable, reliable and durable glazing in your apartment, but don’t intend to pay extra, then you can’t go wrong by purchasing products made using Rehau components.
  • Kaleva. Despite the fact that the brand was named after the Finnish epic “Kalevala,” this enterprise is registered in Russia. The emphasis is on thermal insulation properties. All models of profile systems have metal reinforcements, which significantly increase the strength and deformation resistance of the structure, but increase the cost of the finished products. However, such windows produced in Europe would cost much more.
  • Novotex. The company relies on the availability of its products. Taking into account the fact that the plant, located in the city of Klimovsk (Moscow region), uses imported materials and equipment in the production process, the profiles it produces are relatively inexpensive. This is the choice of buyers who are ready, for the sake of saving money, to turn a blind eye to some not too serious shortcomings.
  • Schuco. This option is suitable for consumers who are interested in German quality and good strength characteristics obtained through steel reinforcement. In order to reduce prices, the company organized the production of windows in Russia, guaranteeing quality through the introduction of a strict control system. If you don’t want to run into a fake, ask to see accompanying documents when purchasing. All original products are certified.
  • Deceuninck. The international concern, headquartered in Belgium, supplies components to more than 90 countries around the world. Offers window profiles with widths from 60 to 84 mm, made of PVC with environmental class A+ and equipped with metal reinforcements. Guarantees the durability of manufactured products, indicating an estimated service life of 40 years.
  • Grunder. Having built a plant on the territory of the Russian Federation, the young German company relied on the mass production of inexpensive components used in the construction of office and public buildings. However, its products are also suitable for residential premises, being popular with homeowners who are inclined to save money.
  • KBE. The products are exceptionally reliable. With proper use, it can last up to 50 years or more. Thanks to the use of environmentally friendly materials, it is suitable for apartments where people with allergies live. Approved for use in medical and children's institutions.
  • Salamander. In an effort to increase its market share, the manufacturer offers quality products on favorable terms. Profiles with a width of 60 to 76 mm provide a good level of thermal insulation and sound insulation. Users note their excellent quality. Available only in Germany!
  • Brusbox . The quality and performance characteristics of BRUSBOX window profiles correspond to their cost. Despite the fact that the products of this manufacturer are not without some shortcomings, this is a completely acceptable option that can be recommended to homeowners who are on a tight budget
  • Trocal. The company traces its history back to the enterprise founded in the 19th century by Alfred Nobile. It is one of the first companies to start producing plastic windows. To increase the environmental safety of finished products, she developed and patented a special Greenline technology. However, quality comes at a price. Prices are higher than analogues.
  • Proplex. The Russian brand, which successfully competes with large European companies, produces window systems with a width of 58 to 127 mm, which are distinguished by their reliability and affordable price. The quality does not cause any complaints either among experts or consumers. If you are interested in good results at an affordable price, Proplex is your choice.

Whatever option you choose, don’t take the suppliers’ word for it. To avoid becoming the owner of counterfeit products, request accompanying documents confirming the origin of the goods.

What has not been produced in Russia in the 25 years of existence of the window market?

There are many positions for the window market that the industry receives only through imports, or the share of imports in them occupies an overwhelming share:

  • additives for the production of window profiles: titanium dioxide and impact strength stabilizers, additives and other raw materials. Among the largest manufacturers of these additives are: DuPont Titaniun Technologies (USA), National Titanium Dioxide Co. Cristal (Saudi Arabia), Huntsman Pigments (USA), Tronox, Inc. (USA), Kronos Worldwide, Inc. (USA), Sachtleben Chemie GmbH (Germany), Ishihara Sangyo Kaisha (Japan). Recently, some profile manufacturers in Russia have been using Chinese additives, but their supplies will not solve the problem of the lack of Russian additives.
  • high purity chalk for the production of window profiles. There are chalk deposits in Russia in the Belgorod region, but not everyone is satisfied with the “cleanliness”. Investment is required in additional purification to improve quality in order to produce the products required for the window profile. Among the world's largest manufacturers: OMYA and Imerys.
  • chemical industry products: polyols, isicyanates, vulcagens, sterling acid, etc. They are used for the production of construction chemical products - polyurethane foams, epdm and tpe sealants, adhesives and raw materials for double-glazed window sealants, including polysulfide and polyurethane. Manufacturers are EU countries.
  • films for lamination: Renolit (Germany), Continental (Germany), LG (South Korea).
  • equipment for windows, double-glazed windows, and extrusion is not produced in Russia. With the exception of the Vstek company in St. Petersburg, which began producing equipment for the production of windows, but the delivery queues are scheduled for several years in advance, which confirms the feasibility and high margins of import substitution.
  • fittings for windows and doors. If there are hardware factories in Russia, the share of imports in this segment is about 80%. But even the presence of production facilities in Russia does not provide factories with 100% production of all fittings. Enterprises will have to urgently reorient their work to the full production cycle in the Russian Federation. Importing accessories from Ukraine and EU countries in the current conditions is difficult and expensive. The start of full-cycle sales of Russian fittings from March 1, 2022 will partially correct the situation, but will not cover all market needs.

Now all profits from imported raw materials and goods, with the exception of meager duties, go to Europe. In 2022 alone, $72 billion “left” Russia instead of staying and joining the domestic economy.

Double-glazed window factory

is a large production and installation enterprise, one of the main areas of activity of which is the production in the factory and subsequent installation of metal-plastic window-balcony and facade structures of any size and a wide variety of configurations. At the same time, the most important and most labor-intensive stage of the production cycle is the production of double-glazed windows using modern technologies using innovative equipment and PVC profiles from the world's best manufacturers.

Do you want to know the cost of double-glazed windows? Leave your contacts, we will call you back!

In general, double-glazed windows are sheets of glass of certain functional properties and dimensions, connected using a special perforated spacer frame into a single sealed structure, which is filled with dry air or argon. Inside the glass unit there are also moisture-absorbing granules that prevent the glass from fogging. In accordance with the requirements of GOST 24866-99 in double-glazed windows, the distance between the glasses can vary between 8-36mm, and the total thickness of the double-glazed window should be from 14 to 60mm.

As our practice has shown, single-chamber and double-chamber double-glazed windows are most in demand among the mass consumer. Accordingly, in a single-chamber double-glazed window, two sheets of glass are connected, and in a double-chamber double-glazed window, three sheets of glass are connected. This or that solution is chosen depending on climatic conditions and a number of other factors (southern or northern side of the building, creation of comfortable temperature conditions for children and the elderly, requirements for sound insulation, etc.).

A double-glazed window occupies almost the entire area of the window structure, so the quality of its execution directly determines the overall performance characteristics that determine the aesthetic appearance, energy-saving potential, comfort in the room, and people's health. Needless to say that these requirements are only feasible under the indispensable condition of using high-tech automated lines?

Our plant has an automated line for the production of all types of energy-saving double-glazed windows using tempered polished glass of various sizes and thicknesses, including triplex and glass with energy-saving coating, the thinnest layer of which reflects infrared rays, returning them to the room and thereby making the microclimate warmer in winter and cooler in summer.

Currently, we produce double-glazed windows in the following main varieties, each of which has its own advantages.

Standard double-glazed windows with one or two chambers

Single-chamber double-glazed windows with a thickness of 24 mm are basic and are manufactured according to the formula (4-16-4), where 4 mm is the thickness of the glass, and 16 mm is the distance between the glasses. According to SNiP II-3-79, the reduced heat transfer resistance coefficient of a single-chamber double-glazed window is 0.34 m2 oC/W, while the external noise level is minimized by approximately 35 dB.

The total thickness of double-chamber double-glazed windows is 32 mm, based on the formula 4-10-4-10-4, where 4 is the thickness of the glass, and “10” is the distance between the glasses.

Double-glazed windows with increased heat saving

Heat-saving double-glazed windows are made using low-emissivity k-glass, which allows you to save heating costs by more than 30%. Such glass, without compromising its light transmitting properties, can return up to 40% of thermal energy into the room. If necessary, it is possible to manufacture heat-saving double-glazed windows from i-glass, which is more expensive, but significantly superior to k-glass in terms of thermal characteristics. It is enough to note that the use of a medium-sized double-glazed unit made of i-glass during the heating season retains the same amount of thermal energy as is generated by burning 120 kg of fuel oil.

Anti-vandal impact-resistant double-glazed windows

For the manufacture of such double-glazed windows, special tempered impact-resistant glass of classes A1...3 and K4 (GOST 51136-98) is used. Glass can be transparent, painted, laminated or mirrored in an anti-spy design, limiting visibility from the street, which is especially important during daylight hours. Impact-resistant double-glazed windows are indispensable for glazing the lower floors of hotels, office buildings, supermarkets, as well as large-scale facades of multi-storey buildings.

Double-glazed windows with patterned layout

For those wishing to provide an exquisite design to the windows of their households and give them individuality, we offer double-glazed windows with external or internal decorative layout from a special profile in the form of geometric patterns or fancy patterns. The profile can be designed in various colors, stylized as metal or precious wood. The profile can have a thickness of 8, 18 or 25 mm. Typically, windows of complex configurations (round, oval, arched, etc.) are decorated with a patterned layout.

In addition to the above, thanks to the presence of highly qualified personnel and advanced production facilities, we can produce individual orders of double-glazed windows with many additional functional properties. Thus, our capabilities are extremely wide and are limited, in essence, only by the wishes of our clients.

If you want to place an order, or you have unanswered questions, our managers will be happy to answer them, call: +7,.
