Inlet valve EHA 2 "AERECO" Aereco
Good day to all!
I know firsthand such pressing problems as mold in the apartment, condensation on the windows, and a swampy smell. That's why I decided to write this review. Perhaps my experience will be useful to someone.
Two years ago, my husband and I purchased an apartment in a new building.
The developer installed EHA2 “AERECO” supply valves on all windows. Our windows are French (to the floor).
Automatic valves for controlled supply of outside air into the room.
At the moment, the price of such a valve is 3000 - 4500 rubles.
Specifications:
- air flow (min - max) at 10 Pa - 5-35 m³/h.
— sound insulation at maximum opening — 37 dB (A)
— automatic (hygro) — built-in
The point is that there is a constant supply of fresh air from the street.
In addition, the valve is equipped with a noise insulation system (special gasket to absorb noise).
Has three operating modes:
1. Automatic mode: switch in the middle position (wavy line).
The mode provides constant control and change in air flow depending on the relative humidity of the indoor air (5-35 m³/h).
2. Forced closing mode: switch in position “0”.
Used in case of emergency shutdown of the heating system or severe frosts. This mode provides a minimum air supply (5 m³/h).
3. Forced opening mode: switch in position “I”.
It is used when it is necessary to ventilate a room, regardless of the automation, air supply in this mode (35 m³/h).
Installation of the AEREKO valve in a window opening.
My husband recently disassembled the valve, and at the same time we looked at what it consists of. These are not all spare parts, only from the inside of the window frame (the manufacturer does not recommend disassembling the valves).
To allow air to come in from the street, holes are made in the window frame.
A fastening mechanism is put on them.
Next, the sound absorber and valve body are hung.
A special grill is hung on the street side to protect against excess dirt, which is recommended to be cleaned 1-2 times a year with a vacuum cleaner.
In plaid windows, holes are made directly in the window frame itself, and in our case (aluminum frame), holes are made in the sealing gum.
Initially, the developer did not make holes in the sealing rubber and our valves did not work; air did not flow from the street.
Naturally, no one warned us about this; my husband and I were sure that everything was working. And we lived for a year with valves that did not function.
As a result, our windows fogged up a lot, and the ventilation didn’t work. Mold has formed in the corner of the room (there is no neighboring apartment in the corner, the apartment is corner).
To make it clear, I am attaching scary photos. I hid them in a quote.
A year later, after writing a complaint to the construction organization, it turned out that the valves were not working and what was the reason. I cut the sealing rubber in the right place and air began to flow.
I immediately noticed a very strong noise from the “street” (car noise, howling wind, people talking and screaming), despite the presence of a noise absorption system. This is especially unpleasant at night, but gradually you get used to it.
Valve manufacturer promises:
Together with the acoustic external canopy, it provides sound insulation of up to 42 dB(A) - maximum noise protection.
What happened? and What happened?
This is the horror that is happening in our apartment during the period of severe cold in St. Petersburg (-20), when the valves did not work.
After the valves began to function, there was noticeably less condensation, but it still exists. When the outside temperature is -15, the windows look like this:
And this is what the windows look like at -20 degrees below zero:
Icicles have formed on the window frame, strong condensation has appeared and cold air is blowing from the valve, despite the “0” mode.
Valve care.
Wipe the valve outlet with a damp cloth once a month (or when dirty).
Dust deposits on the grille of the external visor can be removed using a vacuum cleaner or other means. Periodic cleaning (1-2 times a year) depending on the level of outdoor air pollution.
The valve quickly becomes dirty, as there is a lot of dust and dirt in our city.
Now I will summarize everything written above about the AEREKO supply valves.
Positive points:
1) Easy installation into existing window frame. There is no need to drill a hole in the wall of the house, as with most supply valves.
2) Do not require special care for an additional fee. I wipe it periodically with a damp cloth.
3) Partially eliminated the problem with condensation. Mold no longer forms in the corner.
Negative points:
1) “Street” noise in the apartment. Additional sound insulation of the valve does not help.
2) The windows continue to fog up, although not as much as before.
3) There is no heating of cold air during cold periods. When a strong wind blows from the valve, the room becomes cool.
4) During frosts - icicles on the window frame near the valve.
Conclusion: AERECO valves did not completely eliminate the problem of window fogging in our apartment, but the situation has changed for the better. However, I will not recommend them to you.
At the moment, I haven’t found any other more interesting options in terms of cost and functionality. Most valves have disadvantages.

Installation of window supply units.
• Window supply units (hereinafter referred to as supply units) of models EMM / EHA / EHA2 are installed on windows and other types of translucent structures made of PVC, aluminum, wood and their combinations. The location for installing the air supply device is determined in advance. (See clause 2.1.4)
• Installed air supply devices should not cause a decrease in quality and warranty rights for translucent structures.
• When choosing a combination of air supply device + external canopy, it is necessary to take into account the relative position of the air supply device, external canopy and building parts.
• Supply devices must be placed in such a way that technological openings for the flow of outside air, window fittings, protective blinds, roller shutters, etc. could not significantly reduce the supply air flow.
• Before installing the supply unit, it is necessary to make a technological hole in the profile part of the translucent structure.
• The technological opening is made in accordance with the technical features of the profile systems, the developed and agreed upon installation diagram.
• Examples of layouts for placement of air supply devices on translucent structures:
• When making a technological hole in hollow system profiles (PVC, aluminum and their combinations), it is recommended to use a telescopic channel, which allows: - to exclude the entry of outside air into the cavities of the profile chambers. -minimize aerodynamic noise that occurs during the passage of air.
• If it is impossible to use a telescopic channel, it is recommended to seal the cavities formed in the chambers of hollow profiles as a result of making technological holes 1.
• When making technological holes, it is necessary to ensure the quality of the work.

Installation nuances
The Aereco window ventilation valve can be installed either on a removed sash or on an installed window - it is not necessary to dismantle the structure. However, if possible, it is better to remove the sash: it will be more convenient to work.
In this case, you should install the valve either in warm weather, or prepare some way to block the window opening.
The process itself consists of sawing holes in the frame and fusing the sash (the part that covers the frame) . You should work extremely carefully - the seal on the sash must remain intact when creating holes.
For convenience, you can remove the window fittings (corner gear and scissors) from the top of the sash.
List of tools
To work you will need:
- Drill with a drill bit with a diameter of 10 mm.
- Jigsaw.
- Narrow, fine-grained file (optional).
- Silicone sealant.
- Self-tapping screws (4 for the strip and 2 for the “visor”).
- Template for holes (not necessary, but working with it is both more convenient and more accurate).
For greater accuracy, you can use two drills: the first is 5 mm in diameter, with which a “test” guide hole will be drilled. The second is the main one, which will make a hole of the required diameter.
You can make a template for the grooves yourself from hardboard or plywood (in extreme cases, cardboard will do), according to the specified dimensions.
Stages of work (video)
Stages of work
Installation is performed in the following sequence:
- The location where the valve will be installed is marked.
- Places for the grooves are marked (the dimensions of the holes are indicated in the characteristics, the distance between the grooves is 10 mm) on the sash and on the frame.
- A starting hole is drilled in the sash and frame at both edges of each groove.
- A jigsaw blade is inserted into one of the groove holes and cut to the desired size.
- If necessary, the edges of the grooves are processed with a file.
- The valve strip is installed on the sealant on the flap.
- The plank is additionally secured with self-tapping screws.
- The external “visor” is mounted on self-tapping screws.
- The holes for the self-tapping screws are covered with plugs on top (included with the valve).
- We install the fittings on the sash (if removed).
- We install the sash in the frame (if removed).
- We install the inner valve body onto the latches.
If the installation is carried out by a master, be prepared to spend about 1,500 rubles.
